"The food came from the Dog and Fox inn, bradford on avon They are owned/run by the same family The pub (the 6 bells is a great venue With a big skittle alley (where food was laid out , the bar in the front room, and a wonderful dog friendly garden outback it was the perfect place for a wake. I was able to choose what music was played (All my mums favourite songs! and had time to set up a monitor with a slide show of photos of my mum. It was a really lovely day, with lovely staff, great drinks, wonderful food, and to top it off perfect weather. I'm so grateful to Tom and Clive for providing great food and a great venue for the day."

"Loved it! Visited the area for a day of hiking and stopped here for lunch. It came recommended and I can see why! Stunning building (with an incredible tree surrounding the front door! , beautiful interior and a gorgeous sun trap garden out the back. The food was absolutely delicious! A bit on the pricier side, but well worth it — I’d rather pay a little more for great quality. Superb, very friendly and attentive service from George and Lulu, they’re a credit to the team! It’s great to come to a really decent pub with a nice feel to it. Warm and welcoming, not snobby or chaotic. Currently enjoying a glass of wine before I hoof it back to the campsite. I live relatively nearby, so I’ll definitely be coming back again! :"

"After reading reviews on this pub prior to our visit, my partner and I felt confident that we would have a good experience (I should point out that my partner and I rarely complain). We were shown to our table, then left to make our choices the menu looked inviting. Once the food was ordered we had quite a wait. I had ordered the duck which, presentation wise looked good, although it appeared slightly under done and was extremely chewy, I could barely cut into it. My partner had the fish which again looked lovely, but tasted bland, I tried some and thought it was lacking any flavour, the sauce around it was pretty tasteless too. I ended up asking for something else, which the waitress agreed to. My partner then had to eat his meal whilst I waited for another dish to arrive (we didn’t want him eating cold fish and cold greens). After about 15 minutes the food arrived (and I do understand that you cannot make food appear in a couple of minutes). The pie and mash brought to me looked very appetising, with a separate bowl of greens and carrots. This dish tasted much better than the first, the pastry was lovely, although there wasn’t much inside the pie, mostly gravy, and about two very tiny bits of beef and a couple of bits of kidney. After we finished our meals we had another long wait. We had to ask for more water, and we also had to request desserts. Another long wait and the desserts arrived. Again these looked very appetising, and we did demolish them despite tasting something bitter in the sauce. Maybe the butter was slightly burnt in the process of making it. Anyhow, once we’d finished we just wanted to get going. I went to the bar to pay and waited a couple of minutes whilst the waitress appeared to be processing receipts. At no point did anyone ask how our food was, which is fine as it’s just a pub at the end of the day, but given this pub has won awards we thought the pub as a whole would have reflected this both in terms of food and service. For the price you’d expect better. We would not recommend this pub based on our own experience, and the disappointing food and service."

"Firstly, if you are visiting for dinner have limited mobility you’re in for a tough time. Not only is it a distance from the car park the terrain isn’t the best, especially in the dark. It could absolutely do with better signage. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, relaxing, informal with friendly staff. The charcuterie plate was pleasant with plenty of pickles capers. A wider selection of meat would make this truly a stand out plate. The kedgeree scotch egg was a little bland very oily. The flavour was there, just really muted. Ribeye was particularly good value, not too fatty but more time could have been spent rendering this further. I didn’t appreciate the inclusion of the basting herbs, these were hidden under the steak easily found their spikey way into my mouth. The apple tart was disappointing rather expensive for the portion. The tart base was painfully brittle the filling a bland slightly sour apple purée. The Malbec wasn’t the best, very underwhelming, lacking colour fruit with very thin legs. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"As a tall man with a hearty appetite, I was eager to try the food. We ordered battered sausages along with regular chips and a kids' meal. The portion sizes were impressive, and I found the battered sausages to be quite tasty, although they were smaller than I’m used to. The kids' meal was also substantial and well-prepared. However, it came with a lollipop instead of the toy mentioned on the menu. Overall, the food was very good—some of the best chips I’ve had. The only downside was the long wait to receive our order. One word of advice: don’t make the mistake I did by sitting in the café at the front, as it isn’t connected to the chippy, and the staff there aren’t fond of it."
