"I and Bro visit the nearby boat Carlisle to visit a dear friend Paula who previously worked at the Golf Hotel in Silloth. We stopped at Carlisle last night and had an amazing meal here, Bro had Gammon Steak and all circumcisions, I had West Coast Fish and chips with peas and Tarter Sauce, it was fantastic, we also met Paula's partner Gareth, thanks to your hospitality, all in all we had a fantastic evening in a beautiful village pub. Thank you Colin and Eric XXX. I hope to see you two next year."

Superb Sunday carvery. Choice of all 3 meats, cooked perfectly and plenty of tasty, vegetables, stuffing, chipolatas and yorkshires. All home cooked along with the puds which were gorgeous.

excellent little gem. nice to see it again open! carvery was beautiful! and good portions of the meat. they can get seconds on the vege, but as so many places in these days only once for the meat.

varied menu with some unusual things on it, nicely cooked. the chicken burger is in the round a completely boneless, spiced bun in a bungalow. the prices are quite high, so not the same cheap rallye deal pub as before.

Absolutely the Best Carvery I 've had in a very long time , couldn 't fault it one bit . Meat was perfectly Cooked ' plenty of fresh vegetables ' Roast potatoes and mashed we really Enjoyed our meal , Definitely be going back ' Thank you Gary Paula and all the staff .

I just came from the nearby boat to house and we had a great evening that staff, where all so attentive, friendly, chatty and really so made a effort with our son. the food was fresh, hot and delicious. we will definitely come back. paula was particularly friendly and it was very busy. well done to the whole team they all deserve one thanks.

Great to see this historically important pub brought back to buzzing life. We had a superb early evening meal of cajan chicken salad, full of flavour and texture, and real home cooked pie with proper chips and gravy both followed by superb cheesecake. Staff and service was outstanding even the dog was made to feel welcome. Will definetily be back with friends for the sunday carvery. With proper cask ales like Wainwrights Gold, and huge selection of cocktails Five stars not enough
