Lovely lunch yesterday with my parents, son and girlfriend. Fantastic value for money. Excellent food. Amazing selection of vegetables to go with the carvery.

Absolutely terrible, staff are unprofessional. Obviously targeting one certain member of staff and making it into a joke amongst them. Dirty restaurant with very poor service. Would not return if my life depended on it.

Usually the food is spot on and actually nice. But yesterday 10/09 it was gross. The mash looked as if it had been stood hours and was hard and dry. The roasties could have broken a window, the cheesy leeks were utterly tasteless even though they looked nice. Lost of food left and wasted. It was also really busy so I’m surprised by how bad the food was yesterday!! Voir le carte

Collected Too Good To Go tonight. The takeaway was really well presented, ample and excellent quality. It obviously represented great value. Staff were extremely pleasant and professional, on arrival Jessica was attentive and welcoming. David when serving was conscientious, helpful and customer orientated. Charles was particularly polite and amiable. First Class all round, Thank You Jess, Dave Charles.

Decided to book for our traditional Boxing Day family meal out, after having several very good Sunday carveries. It certainly didn’t disappoint! Staff were as friendly as ever and the food was absolutely great the carvery was the best yet. If you’re after hand pulled beers and fancy decor, this won’t be the place for you. However, if you’re after down to earth value for money, good food, then you won’t go far wrong! Highly recommended

Very nice carvery. We had turkey gammon with all the well presented trimmings for£7.99 each. Very clean throughout attentive staff. The. Chef checked on our meals to see if we were happy with the content as he did with all diners. A nice touch. At the beautiful setting of Owler Bar this restaurant is a credit to the management. Adequate parking a play area for the kids. Beers well kept at the right temperature. Thank you, this was quality foods bought at a bargain price. Voir le carte

Went for a meal lastnight (Friday), veg was hard, looked like it had been out hours and notuch choice. Think roasties had been made from rocks. Meat portions were abysmal. Went to another branch a few weeks ago and got more meat on their regular carvery than last nights supposedly large one. Seen more meat on a vegetarians plate. Manager spent 1/2 hour chatting to guests he clearly knew then all we got is you lot alright? When plates were cleared we told waitress about **** food. She apologised and we never saw her again. Used to go regularly but will avoid now.

The Moorlands is an unpretentious carvery good for an easy family tea, especially as it has the option of burgers and pizzas too. It’s not expensive especially with deals/vouchers. You get what you pay for this is not fine dining. Nine times out of ten the food is fine. I’ve had the odd dodge meal there but I’ve had that at more expensive restaurants/pubs too. It’s convenient and generally has an easy going, relaxed atmosphere. The service is reasonably efficient particularly if you avoid peak times. The jovial manager, and bar staff taking the orders, always seem very conscientious, friendly and welcoming.

Booked a few days in advance a family birthday meal for 12 people in a specific area of the restaurant. On arrival was informed no reservation had been made! For such a large booking, it seems unbelievable that when the telephone conversation had ended, the staff member didn't carry the task through. This is a standard part of the job, and the staff working here clearly needs training in this aspect. We were squeezed in and felt disappointed as we were celebrating my Sons birthday. No significant apology was made or any gesture of goodwill. Customer service goes a long way in my book and is rewarded accordingly. We only had main meals because we felt our custom wasn't valued.
