"I've visited Longs Arms/Hungry Horse a few times, and it serves its purpose well for decent food. They have a wide selection of drinks at good prices. However, booking a table can be a bit cumbersome since they only allow parties of up to six, despite having tables that accommodate eight. The staff are friendly, which is a plus, but it doesn't really change my overall impression of the place. The food and policies are beyond their control. Nonetheless, I must mention the friendliness of the staff, especially Jamie and the manager, whom I believe is Jasmine; they really added to the experience!"

We had a lovely meal. The service we received from Bradley was excellent. He was very welcoming and ensured all our needs were met. Will definitely return on my next visit to the area.

this is a very nice, clean and tidy pub/restaurant with a very wide selection of camps, zider and ales etc. as most hungry horses know what to expect, great teller and good price-performance ratio.

However, there were some downsides to our experience. As the photos indicate, we were given a dirty fork, which took a while for the busy staff to replace, and one of the sauce containers was empty. If you're looking for gourmet food, this may not be the place for you, but it is affordable and comfortable for a casual meal.

Just wow! Really good food. Everything we ordered was lovely. Not one single complaint. The best pub food we've had for a long time. The Steak and Ruddles ale pie was exceptional. Compliments to the chief. Oh and the cheesecake! Oh my god, heaven on a plate The staff provided great service and could not have been more friendly. Highly recommend

The Hungry Horse menu speaks for itself: a wide choice of good quality, well-cooked dishes at low, low prices. The bar prices were good too. We enjoyed excellent service from a friendly waitress (Gemma) and a cheery barman, who both made us feel welcome. Why do so many other pubs in the area charge twice as much for the same thing? We’ll be back soon.

As the kitchen has only recently reopened it was very quiet here which was lovely, however in the past its not been such a relaxed experience. Food was basic (as you'd expect) but very good and staff were polite and helpful. We've also been for breakfast in the past as there is outdoor seating so we can stop with the dog during a walk, breakfast was also good.

I'm not sure what the usual process is, but someone in our group called in our orders, which was really convenient. Our drinks and food eventually arrived, although the service was somewhat slow. The food was good and enjoyable. My New Yorker sandwich was delicious. However, I think they need to replace the cloth they use to wipe the tables, as it was sticky at the spot where our napkins got stuck and tore.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
