Lovely place, staff are great but the curried squash and chickpea pie was lacking any flavour whatsoever and for practically £20 I expected better. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her fish pie though.

Visited this recently refurbished pub. Whilst there weren't many people in, the young man at the bar, Max I believe, made us so welcome and the evening such a pleasure that we visited again the following evening. Service: 5

Luckily for us, we couldn 't get a reservation in Holt! Good Sunday menu. We skipped starters and went for roast beef, which was delicious and tender, served with 'greens ' and an individual cauliflower cheese. The service was good and friendly. We 'll be back! The vegan options at the bar are fantastic, and the staff is always happy to provide recommendations! They consistently offer a great vegan selection. Right now, they have a delightful vegan porn dish that's also gluten-free, along with two delicious vegan small plates—perfect for newcomers or families with kids enjoying drinks in the beer garden. There's also a vegan dessert and naturally, some sorbet available!

Charming and cozy village restaurant with delicious, fresh ingredients. The food was served piping hot, and the fries were warm and crispy. I usually skip dessert, but I opted for the chocolate orange brownie sundae, which was fantastic—rich dark brownie chunks paired with tangy orange slices, a refreshing orange gel, chocolate sauce, and topped with vanilla ice cream. It was a delightful way to end the meal, leaving a refreshing taste on the palate. Overall, I’d rate the food a 4 out of 5.

The service was incredibly slow, even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. Out of our group of four, two meals were enjoyable—the mushroom risotto—while the other two were disappointing, particularly the pie and mash. The pie tasted like it was from a chip shop, and the mash was so grainy that you could slice it. Unsurprisingly, we didn't pay for the two unsatisfactory meals. On top of that, the beer was warm. We've visited this restaurant several times in the past, but we definitely won't be returning. Food rating: 1/5.

Upon arrival we were greeted well and shown to our table. The establishment is very welcoming and the tables well presented and chairs are comfortable and in keeping with the vibrant and classy atmosphere of the venue. Service was good for drinks, and the menu was explained to us well and there was plenty to choose from both regular and special options very good selection from the children’s menu too. We opted for the soup starter which was beetroot soup, we’ve never actually seen that offered anywhere previously, so was worth a punt! My wife found the soup too rich but I really enjoyed it and I’d go as far to say it’s ONE OF THE BEST soups I’ve ever tasted. The staff enquired if all was ok...
