The Holman Clavel Inn

The atmosphere is really nice and the food is great, however we were quite a large group and this seemed to be a bit of a challenge even though we'd booked.

Fantastic traditional country pub with a charming atmosphere. The roast dinner was amazing and the dessert options were delicious. I can't wait to come back again!

This restaurant serves the best Sunday roast in the area. Their desserts are also amazing. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and it feels like a cozy country pub with delicious food. I especially love sitting by the fire in the winter.

Loved this pub. Great atmosphere with very helpful staff. They went above and beyond to make the evening special for my wife on her birthday. Food outstanding one of the best crab salads I have ever had. Actually a fantastically prepared dressed crab with a gorgeous lettuce salad. Still dreaming of that. My friend and I stayed two nights (in 2 seperate rooms) at the B&B above the inn whilst we caught up and explored the area. The accommodation was really good clean and spacious with private en suites. Plus the food and drink at the pub was great pub food and very reasonably priced. All of the staff and locals were really friendly making it a brilliant stay. Sam and Marie went out of their way to make us feel welcome (as did all the staff) and its a really friendly fantastic pub. Will definitely visit again! Voir le carte

Difficult to write a review about this place to be honest. What I will say is that we booked for 6 of us to go there for a meal on a Friday night. The person who booked was told there was a band playing was that ok and it was agreed that was fine. We all turned up to be be told sorry there is no food tonight as we have a live band. So a wasted journey and we had to find another place to go at short notice which we did. Not really what I call a successful evening and sadly we will never get to experience this old country pub ever again.

There was live music playing outside so we sat outside but have had meals inside on many occasions. Love this pub, it’s a proper old traditional pub with great food, great atmosphere and fair prices. I’m going back each time they have a band now as it’s such a lovely atmosphere Also I like to call in on a Sunday afternoon when I can for a half after going for a walk. I’m always made to feel welcome even if I’m on my own as a single lady (if I’m allowed to use that term! Went to a wake in the back room in May which was a full on party with great food and music, feel very lucky to have found this place

We had a fantastic Sunday roast at Holman Clavel at short notice for about 30 people. The atmosphere at this haunted pub on the Blackdown Hills is truly magical, with echoes of history and mystery all around. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and the food was delicious - roast beef and cheese that were cooked to perfection. The hostess, Ruth, made us feel right at home and we raised our glasses in toast to a wonderful day. The ancient walls of Holman Clavel whispered tales of laughter and friendship, making it a truly special place.
