"We visited for the first time to celebrate my partner's 21st birthday, and the meal was fantastic. We even stayed overnight, and the bacon sandwich the next morning was amazing! We're still talking about how great it was. Last night, we returned and enjoyed every moment! The staff were incredibly friendly, especially the man who repeatedly entertained my daughters. My daughter kept pushing her high chair back, and he would come over to spin her around and push her back into place. She absolutely loved it! We will definitely be coming back soon. This place is a gem!"

"We celebrated my grandfather's 90th birthday at this restaurant with a party of 15, and the service was outstanding. The efficiency with which they handled our appetizer and snack orders was impressive; everything arrived together and hot. Everyone enjoyed their meals and desserts. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our guest of honor was well taken care of, making the evening enjoyable for everyone. The food was a notch above typical pub fare, all at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this place!"

"Upon arriving at the restaurant, we noticed the lovely play area in the garden and told the children that they could play there after we had eaten. However, after spending a significant amount of money at the restaurant, we were shocked to see staff drilling a piece of wood over the play area gate. The children were upset, and one of the employees mentioned something about Boris, which was very bizarre. Many families, including us, decided to leave as a result. We later discovered that The Catchems in Swadlincote had a wonderful play area where children could play for hours without any issues. We found the behavior of the restaurant staff to be rude and disrespectful to paying customers. It is disappointing that they lost so much business that day. We had planned to order more drinks and enjoy dessert outside while the children played, but the unexpected closure of the play area ruined our visit. We will not be returning to this restaurant and will be sharing our negative experience with others."

"Our first visit to the Smisby Arms, had lunch with friends and our two dogs. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome. There is a good choice of dishes on the menu and also several specials too. The food was good and reasonably priced. A great dog friendly pub and will definitely be visiting again. Would highly recommend."

"We were celebrating a friends belated birthday and we visited for an Afternoon Tea for ladies. The staff were amazing, nothing was to much for them. All dietary requiremenst were met and the tea coffee kept coming. The sandwiches cakes were delicious and when we were to full to eat anymore we were offered a container to take home a goody box. I would have recommended this place to everyone I know. Keep up the great work folks."
