Has to be the take away with the best chips around never greasy consistently good food and staff very pleasant to go in to

Portion size was small, gravy was like tar and tasted like oxo cubes. Chips burnt and overall it really wasn’t value for money.

Just stopped here by chance and was absolutely so impressed by the quality of the food , freshly cooked to perfection and the girls serving were very polite, friendly and efficient, certainly hope to call here again and most definitely recommend Voir le carte

Called in here recently and fish fried to perfection and beautiful chips. Reckon it’s the best fish and chip shop in Mid-Ulster and certainly better than any chip shops in Magherafelt. Have never been disappointed with anything I have bought here. Please note that this chip shop is situated in Moneymore and not Magherafelt as stated on Trip Advisor.

Situated in Moneymore, half way between Cookstown and Magherafelt, it is better than the chippies in either of these towns. I have never had anything other than fish and chips here. They are always good, never greasy. It is often crowded, and the queue can be slower than expected due to the number of telephone orders. Worth the wait, but if you are in a hurry, place a phone order.

We called in and ordered a Fish, Burger chips The fish was lovely, lovely batter, great fish and very tasty. The Burger was really much like and chippy burger a bit dry and with the added onion my partner said it was tasty. The chips were lovely, home made chips a good portion and enough for a few for both of us. I'd also ordered a small side salad it was also plentiful and was lovely Staff were here friendly and attentive and nothing was any bother All in all I totally agree it's a great chippy, great staff and good portions I've included the most recent menu for your viewing Voir le carte

Huge thanks to ‘Team Golden Chip’ for superb hot food fabulous customer service! Cannot recommend highly enough! Pre ordered and all ready for collection on time! For a special birthday treat we had the following meals….chicken kebabs on chips with fresh, crunchy side salad, chicken goujons with garlic mayo dip, breaded fish supper with mushy peas and a children’s chicken nuggets, chips and beans meal! We sampled pepper, kebab and curry sauces all delicious! The lightly battered perfectly cooked French fried onions were so tasty! All perfect! An amazing birthday tea! Thanks again wishing you every success in your beautiful new shop! Keep up the great work!

As someone who travels extensively all over N Ireland I can assure you that The Golden Chippy in Moneymore is without doubt 1 of the top 3 Chippies in N Ireland! My wife and I and our kids have NEVER got bad meal out of this place! Their Chicken fillet burgers with lettuce, Tomato, Bacon and a wee skim of Mayo are easily the best in N Ireland, Their Chips are also consistently good as are their Chicken Coujons, Battered onion rings and battered Mushrooms. This is a well run family chippy with excellent staff a bit like Tommy's Chippy in Ballykelly. Only real point is that Tommy's Chippy's Gravy is far nicer (old school chip shop gravy) and Tommy's does beautiful Fish Cakes. 10 out of 10

We stopped off here for some takeaway as we were both feeling very hungry the reviews on here were mainly very good the place does look extremely clean, so we were feeling very positive and optimistic. However, based on our first last! visit I can truthfully say it was unbelievably disappointing and a total rip off. It cost £24 for two mediocre very skinny cod which were dry overcooked, 2 portions of chips which were soggy not at all either crispy nor golden as some previous reviewers had said they were the potatoes they used were obviously not good at all as a lot of the potatoes/chips were black and this was bound to be obvious to the staff also a portion of onion rings 3 out of 8 which we...
