Visited this pub for the first time, delicious burger, staff were lovely and great atmosphere!

Lovely Sunday roast. The staff are super lovely and accommodating and the food was tasty. Portions seemed on the small side but were actually perfect with an extra side and pudding. They were packed so definitely book ahead of time.

Had a fabulous evening meal with my husband. The Service was excellent had a lovely chat with Bar manager Dave. Food was outstanding vegan wellington was delicious and salmon starter and steak and ale pie were also delicious. Will certainly go back and try the Sunday Roast. Based on this visit I would highly recommend.

During Christmas week, the restaurant was empty. The waitress listed all the items they were out of before presenting us with a limited menu. Despite a special festive menu being available, we were unable to order it as it required pre-ordering. The manager had a bad attitude, while the waitress was lovely and tried her best. We settled for fish and chips, pies, and mash, with only the crumble available for dessert. My coffee was lukewarm and had to be remade. We have enjoyed our meals here before, but this experience was disappointing. First time that I have visited The George in a long time and I am so glad that I did! I had a really delicious lunch from the £11 lunch offer (main meal and drink for £11), enjoying the sausages and mustard mash alongside a Luscombe Sicilian Lemonade. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. The food was served in a good time, it was a good temperature and who doesn't love an additional portion of gravy without having to ask for it! There was a pleasant ambience, the temperature of the restaurant was just right (I took a jumper as I had previously been cold in the building), it was fabulous. Booked at short notice as very close to the airport and fantastically close to M5 for homeward journey. Lovely greeting from staff showed around by the lovely landlady. Rooms were very comfortable bathroom was just gorgeous and after a week away with only a shower to be greeted by such a sumptuous bath was a blissful way to soak away the long flight . We had a very lovely steak again made welcome by the staff a very positive experience. Breakfast was a help yourself continental style but very adequate. We arrived behind schedule, and were in a hurry to check in and get a taxi to our event. We asked for a number and were given one for a company who no longer works evenings! Had to drive ourselves in the end. When we got back later that evening the pub was in darkness with barely any illumination to see us back to our room. The room itself was very unclean, a covering of dust on every surface. Was like the room hadn’t been used in a while and certainly not cleaned before our arrival. There were spiders and cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom was dirty with mould in the shower. The breakfast was also disappointing.
