"We've had a few takeaways from Bilash recently, we swapped to them from our more local Indian restaurant because they just didn't bother trying anymore, I think because we used them every time. In our last takeaway from Bilash they gave the wrong naan bread and this time forgot our rice. My husband went back to get it but unfortunately didn't check the bag properly and they'd missed the mint sauce and onion too. I did call them and they tried to say well the poppadoms were foc. They were not, we ordered and paid for them. I was told, next time you come we'll sort you out. Well there won't be one."

We spent £140 on a takeaway. Would not accept cards only cash

Food was incredibly tasty and staff were brilliant. One of the best curries I've had in a long long time. would highly recommend this little restaurant.

Not the best. My dish was nice, but wine was unpleasant and my husband's lamb was extremely tough, he's aware that mutton can be tough but he could not cut through two pieces.

Highly enjoyable Indian takeaway with a great selection of vegetarian options. Good value and large portions. Only criticism would be that the paneer was slightly dried out and tough, otherwise a great meal.

A hidden gem. This is by far the best Indian food we’ve ever had and I highly recommend the Dansak and the Special Tikka Masala! Don’t be put off by the lack of reviews. The staff were polite and attentive. Service was quick and the food was gorgeous and red hot! So glad we visited and we will be back!

This was a take-away as we live locally. First time. Really impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Really excellent style of cooking which blends ingredients and flavours but no into a mixed up mush which sometimes can be the case. Generous portions. Pasanda was terrific with a tasty and well cooked garlic naan. Will be back!

Probably the worst meal I’ve ever had, popadoms were burnt, all the food/sauces tasted the same and we ordered several different dishes. One of the dishes had a chicken drumstick in it!!!! And the tail of a prawn but no prawn!! The food was cold and extremely greasy. Food rating on the door is a 2. Waiter was extremely apologetic but obviously we won’t be returning.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity.
