"The spring rolls and Camembert starters were delicious. Both the lamb hotpot and fish cake mains were tasty, although the fish cake didn't need accompanying chips. The steaks were disappointing – they were thin and uncertain if they were rib eye, making cooking to medium rare inaccurate. The potato wedges were overcooked in this pricy main dish. The Sticky Toffee Pudding and Brownie desserts were enjoyable. The waitstaff were attentive."

"Excellent. So often a favourite restaurant falls down on quality between Xmas New Year but The Chequers excelled themselves, not easy for a table of 23 but they did. The staff are so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. A well oiled machine. The Sea Bream was absolutely lovely and the braised beef rib was perfect for my Dad (88)"

"we were at some places in the pariser house and have never been disappointed with the food or service. eating is always presented on an excellent way and the tastes are wonderful. the service was always excellent and the staff knowledgeable with regard to the menu and the ingredients used. the weinlist is very extensive and the staff is always available for advice to combine to the wein with each cure. the meals are never rushed and we could always take our time with the whole meal. the pariser house restaraunt is located in the beautiful surroundings of a part of the woburn park and a beautiful old building. we would have this restaraunt for the food, location and service that have given and done to everyone."

"Given one menu between three people and expected to know our order within five minutes of arriving; well, that’s the attitude of the young lady serving us as she blatantly rolled her eyes at us because we weren’t ready to order! The second time the young lady came to take our order, the last of our party was trying to find the pizza on the menu (as well as clearly trying to keep an eye on her small child! as it is on the downloadable version from the website and clearly advertised on the café’s Facebook cover photo!! To help my friend out, I asked the lady serving us if the café still served pizza, to which she replied no and did we need extra time, then once again rolled her eyes when we answered yes to needing a bit more time. I’d understand if the café was busy, but there were only three other small groups of customers in the café. It was just utter rudeness! The young lady is obviously very inexperienced when it comes to customer service and would benefit from further training/shadowing of more experienced staff. In addition to this, if pizza is no longer on offer, the café needs to seriously update what they are advertising online! I ordered the cauliflower aloo gobi dhansak jacket potato. The dhansak was so stodgy and tasteless, I didn’t enjoy it. At no point did any of the staff check to see if our food was to our satisfaction. Apart from the young lady taking our order having rolled her eyes at us twice, there was no contact from the staff until we got up to pay; the staff couldn’t move quick enough to clear our plates!! A disappointing experience, particularly as this café USED to have outstanding service and fantastic food! Wouldn’t recommend with its current standards."
