"If you were like me and Shed a tear when Julie and Hendrik left the White Horse in Kings Sutton earlier this year then rejoice as they have returned with a bang! News of their return is spreading like wild fire over the local culinary...landscape and my wife with me in tow) were lucky enough to get a table for the so called soft opening which was anything but as they have hit the ground in their usual stride perfection). Their new establishment is bigger than before but has their signature style and feel running throughout with big plans for Hendriks home grown produce in the grounds firmly underway, you would not believe they only took hold of the keys a little over a week ago as it feels very familiar and relaxed which anyone who has experienced their hospitality will understand) , going for lunch today was like meeting an old friend relaxed and comfortable from start to finish. We have booked to go back in a couple of weeks and will be counting down the days until our return."

Superb! The food, presentation and staff all get 10/10. We booked for Sunday lunch at the first available opportunity. We were not disappointed. Love the cutlery holders, nice touch. We’ll return.

We had a very nice lunch. Nice touches included home made bread and butter and freshly made chocolates with the bill. We had Duck, Lamb and Fish and Chips. All cooked well with polite prompt service. We will be back to try the Sunday lunch...menu. Well done to all.

I have booked on Saturday lunch for a large family group from far and wide and the new owners were very courteous and during our visit. the service and eating were both very good and the pub itself is very attractive. we used both the outside seat and the inside area and there was nothing to blame.

We visited the pub after a recommdation, very disappointed, excellent service, unfortunately the food didn't match, overcooked lamb we were told it was served pink,it came well done, only veg were 4 small pieces of squash. We had the cheese board,3 thin slices of bland cheese and raw...honey on a spoon,I assume the ho ey was to add some flavour to the cheese. We will definitely not be returning. Voir le carte

Home grown and seasonal elements, super presentation but most importantly taste, taste, taste! I had mussels, belly pork and an amazing pud, my husband had crispy pigs head and beautifully cooked duck. The place is cosy country farmhouse chic, crockery makes it feel like a...really special and elevated experience, great selection of wines and beers and something for everyone on the menu. Can't recommend enough, and pricing very reasonable

I made a reservation for Sunday lunch after hearing about the new owners. It did not disappoint. The menu was intriguing and the dishes were executed excellently. The sirloin steak on the Sunday special menu is a rarity nowadays, but not only was it cooked perfectly to my liking, it was also a generous portion. The vegetables were also well-prepared and delicious. I will definitely be returning to sample more dishes from the full menu in the near future.

My friend and I met up for dinner at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We were already familiar with the previous establishment owned by the same managers/owners, so we had high expectations. The quality of the food exceeded our expectations! The chicken parfait appetizer was fresh and delicious, the homemade bread was amazing, and the new bottle fillet steak was simply outstanding. The service was fantastic, the food was divine, and the restaurant had a beautiful interior decor. What's not to love? Voir le carte

Oh my, what a truly eggcellent find. I had visited here a long time ago under previous owners, so was expecting decent pub grub. But we were truly taken aback by the quality of the food we were served. The chicken liver parfait was, quite...simply, parfait (perfect), the crayfish bisque was souper, the whipped chocolate dessert unbeatable and the wine list an absolute corker. Seriously, duck and food puns aside, this pub is a perfect place to enjoy sumptuous cuisine. And you can even bring the dog. You'd be barking not to try it.

I visited The Duck and Pond this afternoon with a special guest who loves a Sunday roast. We made it our hobby to tour Oxfordshire in search of the perfect Sunday dinner, and we were not disappointed. Upon entering the pub, we were informed that they were fully booked, but we were offered a table near the door. The drink service was quick and I highly recommend trying the local beer, it was delicious. After a short wait, a waiter kindly offered us a table where the previous guests had finished, which was a nice gesture. We ordered two roast dinners and were pleasantly surprised with fresh bread and butter. The roast dinner was excellent, with tender meat and flavorful potatoes. The meal also...

"I don't know what on earth happened last night when we had dinner here, the reviews looked good, and we're struggling to understand how. We're very easily pleased and takes a lot to prompt a complaint, but we had an absolutely awful experience. My partner ordered the belly pork off the specials board, and it turned up on a side plate, a very few overcooked bits of diced pork thrown in with a few veg. I had the cauliflower with braised lentils, this turned out to be a few mainly burnt cauliflower florets thrown into a plate of sludgy lentils. The chunky chips we ordered came out as skinny fries, not a big deal but just added to the general lack of care. We were both mortified, to the point of embarrassment. We ate it as we were hungry and there was nowhere else to go as we were staying at a local campsite. One of the team took the plates away, and another brought the bill. Neither of them asked us how the meal was, else we'd have said how disappointed we were. So we just left, just as the table next to ours was commenting on the small portion sizes of their food. We should have complained but we were hungry, disappointed, tired and just wanted to leave and simply couldn't face the confrontation in the busy setting. No excuses but that's how it was. We are very relaxed easy going people but this was a truly disappointing meal and experience and we felt robbed of £45 instead of enjoying what we'd hoped would be a lovely Saturday night out and special occasion."
