"We were recommended this restaurant and it has taken us some time to finally get here. The building is historic and well maintained, bare floor boards add to the character but do little to dampen the background noise from a full restaurant. The food is traditionally English, in season and well cooked and presented. You have a choice between a 2/3 fixed price menu (3 choices for each course) and an A la Carte I had tomato and onion soup, a great dish, along with Sea Bass, with prawns, hasselback potatoes, whilst my partner had haddock with a dill and cream sauce, followed by rice pudding with maple apples (brilliant). So why 4 rather than 5 stars, the service, was friendly but the one server was rushed, covering the whole restaurant (it appeared which had a number of different rooms). A couple of time things were promised , water, which never appeared, a wine list arriving 15 or so minutes later long pauses between courses, with empty plates. We felt sorry for the waitress. "I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The service was slow, and it was puzzling that some diners received poppadoms right away while we weren't offered any. The vegetable platter starter was bland and had a floury texture. The lamb balti needed more sauce, but it was acceptable overall. However, my chicken tikka biryani had no flavor whatsoever, and neither did the vegetable curry. Throughout our meal, no one checked in on us to see how we were enjoying our food. Additionally, the tables for two were positioned too closely together; we could have easily joined in on our neighbors' conversation."

"Lack of staff and a dirty cup, but a really nice, relaxing atmosphere and quiet (it was a rainy day). A wide variety of tea and cake options. Lots of seating further inside down a few steps, and the area with large windows seems suitable for wheelchair access. For such a central location it's a shame there's not enough staff for someone to wash up well and greet us at the door, but the staff seemed attentive and there were no delays. Service: Dine in"

"Lovely Italian restaurant, extremely friendly staff from the moment you walk through the door. Great laid back and relaxing atmosphere. The food was delicious and would recommend Prezzo to anyone visiting Ely. Drink, i had a Blackberry Negroni, I've never had a blackberry one before, but this one was delicious and refreshing, perfect for a hot summers day. For starters, I had Italian Hummus. It was deliciously creamy and fresh, served with lemon oil and some really nice fluffy grilled flatbread. Nice and light, not too filling would order this again. Finally for main, I had the newly added Sea Bass with Pesto Gnocchi, the fish was cooked perfectly, nice crispy skin and juicy fillet, lovely. The Gnocchi were perfect, nothing to fault there. Finally the pesto brought the whole dish together, a rich garlicky, oily and fresh tasting pesto. Very nice indeed! I must say that our waitress was lovely, she checked on us throughout the evening to ensure we had everything, got chatting to her about the weather and her GCSE's, best of luck to her. She really seemed to enjoy what she was doing, very nice to see. Would recommend Prezzo to anyone looking for some nice authentic Italian food, also the pizzas looked amazing."
