Lovely place to eat, food was amazing and quirky, loved the little extras they thrown in, not a place for kids though! will def be visiting again very soon with friends and family! xx

We booked the Ambrette based on reviews we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service excellent! The staff treated us as if we were regulars making our birthday celebration particularly special thank you to all at the restaurant.

We dined at this restaurant in Rye because it was one of only two with vegan options. The food was delicious and there were many choices to choose from. What stood out was that the vegan options were not your typical standard fare, it was clear that thought was put into them. Highly recommended for a flavorful meal!

I recently tried the baked eggplant with garlic at this restaurant and it was truly one of the best vegan dishes I have ever had. The flavors, presentation, and textures all came together to create a delightful dining experience. The service was top-notch and the ambiance was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to come back for another meal.

Light, airy dining room with art displays, monastery view at rear and jazz playlist. Beautifully presented food including hard-to-find dosa and smoked aubergine that delivers on smoky flavour topped with a giant tempura chard leaf worth travelling for! Plates also showcase a rainbow of seasonal veg cooked to perfection with Indian spices and chutneys. Lunchtime prices are especially great value. A classy dining find in a lovely small town. We went here for our anniversary lunch I chose the food old mushroom salad as a starter and the butternut squash from the three vegan roast options. The spiced potatoes and the onion bhaji’s were delicious, and there was also a side of vegetables. The ‘main affair’ ie the butternut squash was disappointing, as it was basically just a slice of butternut squash filled with rice. It all left me a little confused. The atmosphere is lovely in the seating area at the rear with the view of the old monastery wall.

we went there by noon. it was very empty, so we were not upset by noise, etc. I had the vegan thali and it was super yum! my meat that eats dad had the non-vegetarian thali and also liked it. but what I must mention is that for people who do not like to find food on the spicy side, it might be hard to find them like. the room itself was super nice and the service also. on the menu they also clearly showed the allergy advice of every food. all in all it is a great option for all people who like Indian cuisine!

The food was delicious but it was a strange experience. I asked to book for 7pm and was told there was no availability so booked for 6.15pm instead. The place was half empty till we left just before 8Pm, so that confused me. They seemed to be short staffed when we arrived so it took a good half hour to get menu and drinks. We were however offered a complimentary starter which was delicious. We were seated in a corner so didn't see the lit up garden till we left which was a shame and the low chairs were quite uncomfortable. The manager said he is working on creating vegan desserts which sounds good. Voir le carte
