"I have frequented this establishment many times over the last 12 years. I originally worked at Sunnydale and happened upon it on my day off (there weren't many! I have family that live near by and have always opted to stay in the crown rather than with them (which speaks volumes Alan and Dee are nothing short of fantastic hosts and they know their trade well. The crown is a rustic little pub/eatery/bed and breakfast. Ample parking and easy to find. The guestrooms are clean and comfortable and the pub offers activities for all, including bingo, karaoke and quizzes with decent prizes. In short there is very little a place like this can't do. I highly recommend a visit weather just passing or planning a short stay. A massive pat on the back to the owners."

First rate pub grub with a varied menu. Excellent friendly and helpful service. Good seating outside, and good value for money.

We called in on a Wednesday evening for tea only to be told no food until Friday! Despite the advertising outside and it being late June.

Took my family of 15 in there and when we walked in were told there’s another pub in the village! So walked out! Extremely rude as we were willing to spend a lot of money in there! So there loss! We did goto the other pub The New Inn, where they were more than welcoming and friendly staff! All enjoyed the meal! Would not recommend going to The crown as it’s very clicky and unwelcoming!

We were staying at a nearby holiday park but used this pub every night as we found it nice and friendly. We were in Saltfleet mid September 2016 and the pub opened a 5pm each evening however during the main holiday seasons it does open at midday. The bar has a selection of beers including 3 handpulled real ales, the food was excellent and the wait was not too long however the only night they don't serve food is a Tuesday.

We popped into The Crown as it was close to where we were staying on holiday and advertised food served all day. It was about 5pm on a Sunday and chose the Sunday lunch that was supposed to be served all day but unfortunately they had run out!So we went for something quick basic ham, egg chips after waiting nearly an hour we asked a waitress where our meal was was told sorry but someone had needed to go out and get more ham as they had run out of ham!15 mins later our meal was finally served it was fine for what it was but nothing special definitely not worth the wait.I wouldn't bother visiting again

Four of us popped in for an evening meal whilst camping. The menu seemed to have a good choice and the specials board had a selection of pies.My wife and myself oppted for pies. The meals cost about £7.99 per meal. What we got was pies that had come out of a packet from what looked the local discout supermarket. The gravy arrived just before we finished the meal and the waitress said she was sorry she had forgot and the gravy was thick and congealed. Our friends also ate with us and they had scampi and the other curry and chips. The presentation was bad the service was bad and the food made from cheap ingredients.Never again.

We visited here on our first night on holiday. They were very welcoming and kids are allowed. We visited for food. Firstly we went to order but somethings were not on the menu, the chef was very apologetic and explained that he was just taking over and was running stock down so he could start doing his own thing. I chose a burger and my meal was lovely, homemade chips too which is always a nice surprise, my partner had liver in a yorkshire pud, but it was cold, however he didnt like to complain as they had been so friendly, had we complained im sure it would have been fixed.Overall food let them down but there pints were brilliant.

"I've been in Horncastle on business twice once on a Monday, once on a Tuesday and both times found the town mostly closed for business in the evenings. This time, just as I was on the point of deciding people in Lincolnshire must have a tradition of fasting on a Tuesday evening, I came across The Bull. This attractive old coaching hotel looked inviting, and the staff offered me a friendly welcome. The warmly lit, high ceilinged interior of this Georgian inn was full of diners (Yes on a Tuesday! Take note, other restauranteurs of Horncastle) and the ambiance was convivial. The selection of beers behind the bar was good and the two pints I drank were tasty and well kept. I was presented with two bar menus, a separate burger menu and shown a fish menu and a steak menu on the wall. (I understand tapas is also available at weekends). Quite a choice! The bar menus largely consisted of what you might call traditional pub grub of the best kind. Within that massive choice, there must have been at least half a dozen dishes I was really tempted by but, eventually, I plumped for the cauliflower soup followed by the pork belly, mash, peas and apple gravy. Both courses were outstanding and extremely generous in size, especially the pork belly. My only disappointment was that I hadn't room in my distended belly to squeeze in a spotted dick for pudding! My bill, for such a large and excellent meal, was very modest. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at The Bull and would definitely eat and/or drink there again."
