"We stayed for one night here as we were in the area celebrating a friends birthday. The accommodation is above the pub and when we arrived the lady was friendly and checked us in. When booking we didn’t request breakfast but they had included it for an extra £7 each. As this wasn’t until 9am they removed it from our bill as we had to leave at 8am the next day. The rooms are upstairs, no lift facility that I could see if you are with anyone with mobility issues or have heavy bags. The rooms are basic but appeared to be well looked after and clean. We didn’t have much time to inspect the room as we were heading straight out. We arrived back at our room at 1am. The bed was ok we had a king room but it didn’t really look any different in size to our friends double bed in the next room. It was comfy enough but the room was very warm, we didn’t realise the radiator was on full until the next morning. The one thing that for me really let this place down is the en suite. Whilst the room was clean, the bathroom seemed to have limescale on the showerhead so it looked a little less clean. The shower was a rainfall one which I love but it didn’t have a separate attachment so if you aren’t washing your hair, it’s hard to not get it wet as the cubicle is quite tight. The shower tray also fills up with water and doesn’t seem to drain very fast. The toilet when flushed made such a noise and seemed to carry on filling up for half an hour (not good when you just want to sleep). It was so noisy we could hear the room next doors toilet making the same noise. We were only given a tiny bit of toilet paper too. Seems this was not replenished after the last person stayed there. I couldn’t find any spare rolls in the room and with the absence of a reception, there was no way of asking for a replacement. I went to use the main pub toilets in the morning as we had no paper left but the door to the pub was locked (it must not open until breakfast starts at 9). Luckily we were leaving early! You just drop your keys in a box on exit so there wasn’t a way of informing the staff about this before we left. We didn’t eat at the pub so I can’t comment on the food but we had some drinks there during the evening and the staff were attentive and served everyone quickly. It’s a nice quaint looking traditional inn. The car park is a walk around corner at the back of the building, a public car park but we didn’t have to pay."

We stayed at The Court House last week and ate in the restaurant during our stay. The bar area had a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty wine!

The restaurant has a great menu, a well-stocked bar, and a friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere. They also have darts and a pool table, making it a perfect spot for families looking for a place to eat.

This very old quaint building is worth visiting for either a drink, meal or both. The bar and lounge area are very comfortable and clean. We went for a meal Friday lunch time, six of us.I had their delicious steak in ale pie with chips and peas, also shared a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. The bill was so reasonable, my main was only £7-95.Highly recommend Voir le carte

We were welcomed by lovely smiling bar staff and shown to our small but spotlessly clean room. As we live in France we were looking forward to some traditional English pub food and the menu was just what we were looking for. Again the two young girls who looked after us could not have been friendlier or more attentive and the food was superb. We had a great nights sleep and an excellent breakfast. Great value.

We went to the court house for a Sunday carvery with a party of nine, including 4 kids. The staff were wonderful with the children and extremely accommodating, which was a fantastic way to start our experience. The food was exceptional; the carvery tasted just like a homemade roast dinner. It was obvious that everything was freshly cooked and the prices were quite reasonable. It's a pity we don't live closer, or else we would definitely be regular patrons. Thank you for a delightful dining experience!

Visited with my husband and our friend for a quick meal and a catch up. I had the bacon and stilton burger which was lovely and the chips nice and crispy. The waitress was very knowledgeable when I asked if the burger came with any salad or sauce in and assured me they don 't and just a salad garnish on the side, perfect for me as I usually have to ask for it 'plain '. They were very happy to swap my husband 's peas for beans. I grew up in Thrapston and I 'm moving back in the new year, happy to have found somewhere local to eat Voir le carte

We really enjoyed the food , only pub food scampi and chips hunters chicken but cooked well and tasty , very reasonable prices , the dinning room hmmm very miserable looking , it was a Saturday night and we were the only ones in there eating, harsh bright light , tables and furniture not set up at all, which really does not make it inviting such a shame as I think the room could be made lovely with a few table clothes and little tea lights on the tables , there was another couple on a table as an overflow from the pub section just sitting drinking , little odd mixture of decoration , this is a historic building with huge history a shame someone didn’t do their homework on the decoration side...

Awful is the only word we can use. If you want processed packet food then it maybe your thing. Having seen good reviews we tried the courthouse. It’s very odd as food mentioned in the sparkling reviews isn’t even on the menu !! One might question the authenticity of those ! Waitress swung her hair round four times whilst taking our order and stood playing with her hair. This was off putting from the start . Burgers are lumps of processed shop bought yuk. Not homemade and the Frozen chips drowned with grease. Shop bought dry salad leaves on the side not fresh prepared salad. My sisters pie was cold in the middle and all gravy barely any filling . Steak had been cooked on an unclean griddle by...

"this was my birthday contract with the children (in their 40's go to lunch big situation, but the management is missing in action. we smiled at the typos. the menu, but it turned out to be a symptom of deficiency...view to detail. very friendly (but quite inexperienced waiting staff. great location and a very warm welcome. water came pretty fast. the starters were pretty good (3 ham hock croquettes and a panko chicken. the mains were another thing. two fish and chips very nice, good portions and well presented. burger was terrible. here is the menu description 6oz coarsely ground beef burger, candied speck, soft bevel, cheddar cheese, salattomate . the reality was a burger in a bungalow with a piece soggy salat and maybe some cheese. no speck, no tomats, no wobble so £18 for an average qualitysburger and they have to pay extra for riders! To conclude that there was at least 5 10 minutes after the other net, so we sat just wait and had to ask the waitress when it came. description • crispy confit ente bein, herby buttermilk waffel, fried due egg with maple senf dressing the reality that was inspected and watery it looked out and tasted as if it were boiled to death. the herby buttermilk waffel was chewing and certainly in a blind taste test I would swear that there is no more crumble in. to cover, it was cold. the sniffing was nicely spread in the waffles that gave them a taste. we also ordered the knochenmark from the menu. No one had said to the poor waitress that they should have been ordered to tell the diners what was going on and no. the menu. when we complained, the manager had not even come the courtesy and see us they left the poor junior waiterin to explain that the speck had not come with the delivery to the last day (one ever heard that he jumps out of the super market to buy some? and there was no excuse for the missing tomats, very badly sorry for us, so on. desserts the brownie was very nice, but the eton mess was a catastrophe. it came in a small delicate glass. in the ground a buckling of whipped cream with some slabs of stone hard meringue and some earthy with stems overfilled with some earthberry syrup. after bending the spoon. we decided to solve it by hand. I was afraid that I would break a tooth on the notched position that really needed to be served with a hammer. the only way to eat the earthy was to pick them up from the body, to bite and to eat to which time our hands were covered in sauce. on the plus side, they drew the price of the burger and Eton fair and 25% of the duck, as we had 3 glasses of wine and a koks, the bill was still over £120 without drinking money. to say that by my choice of restaurants, I would be embarrassing a rough understatement."
