"Had a table booked for 5.30. Arrived at restaurant and was advised that they do not start serving till 6 o'clock and that only a set menu was available along with a ceilidh band from 8.30. This was not what we had booked . Not sure why our reservation was accepted for 5.30 when they don't start serving till 6 and why we were not advised that the normal menu was not available. As this was a day out to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we were very disappointed to have to find somewhere else to eat."

Nothing special considering the Claret Jug is part of Cameron House. The staff are great but the food is very average. Overpriced for what you actually receive.

The service at the restaurant was slow and the manager was just standing at the end of the bar, not coordinating with her team even though she knew we were waiting for our plates to be cleared.

Attentive service but the restaurant was almost empty on 22nd December which made it all rather sad... Main courses were good but dessert very disappointing. Over-priced for quality of food served. Voir le carte

We had a lovely lunch after the seaplane flight for my husbands 60th birthday. Plenty of choice on the menu. We all chose wraps of various fillings and the presentation and speed of food was excellent. We were running a bit late and I called ahead to confirm this and it was not a problem. The ambience of the Claret Jug was most appealing . Toilets were immaculate. Staff were polite and attentive. Already recommended Claret to friends.

Pleas note open table should not be advertising tables for 9pm when this is when the kitchen closes. The staff were brilliant and the chef still made us some really lovely salmon steaks, despite the fact that they had stopped serving food and the kitchen had closed. All credit to them but please open table, check the serving hours of the restaurant, it is a rather out of the way venue to reach to discover they are no longer serving food at the time you had booked your table.
