The Blue Steak - Carte

Lovely chips,burger was ok,breakfast great,the serving staff were really busy but helpful, polite and smiling.

Had a great meal while staying at the hotel. I could not fault the food at all. Excellent value for money and a truly lovely meal.

While staying at the Blue Inn, I decided to dine at the restaurant for convenience. The food was decent, but not outstanding. However, the quality seemed to vary for each course, so my experience may have been influenced by the dishes I chose that evening.

There are plenty of options to choose from at this restaurant. I decided on the pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The restaurant was clean and tidy. I also had breakfast there which was so good. I have no complaints at all.

Food was OK, well presented and tasty. My chicken main course was tough, but we only paid £29 for three courses, proseccio and coffee for two. So, for the price it was good value. Pleasant waiting staff, all very young. I don't think I would have liked it as much at full price. Voir le carte

The restaurant although lacking slightly in atmosphere, could have been pleasant if the woman who showed us to our table had welcomed us and been friendly. Instead she seemed affronted that we asked to sit at a largest table even though the place was almost empty and remained so all night. But we did what we were told. She then appeared annoyed that we hadn't read the menu on line so presumedly asked too many questions so we were passed us over to a pleasant waitress but by then we had been made to feel so unwelcome we just wanted to leave. The restaurant is clean and presentable. Felt more like a pub than a restaurant really as there were quite a lot of contractors having a laugh and not eating. This wasn't really a problem but more of an observation. I had a mixed grill which I was happy with apart from the chips being overcooked and a bit hard.... My partner had a steak and was very under cooked to what we she'd ordered. We sent it back to the kitchen, I assume then it was washed under the tap to remove the peppercorn sauce which had been put on it and put back on the grill, it came back out very charred and pretty ruined. The restaurant lacks sophistication, with plain tables and cocktail napkins that are too small. The staff are young and inexperienced, giving the establishment more of a cafe vibe than a proper restaurant. The first course, Thai Fishcakes, seemed to have been fried from frozen and while edible, were not great. The focus on presentation, such as serving food on bits of wood, seems to take precedence over quality. The menu was basic and many items were unavailable. My steak choice was not available initially but miraculously appeared later, though it was smaller than expected and tasteless.
