"Skenfrith is a hidden gem located off the main roads between Abergavenny, Hay, and Monmouth. The restaurant offers stunning scenery and the opportunity to explore a riverside castle for free. The hotel and restaurant are small, dog-friendly (in one bar), with plenty of parking, and impeccably clean with a mix of flagstone floors and modern decor. The lunch/snacks menu includes delicious share platters, soups, sandwiches, 'standard' mains, and a variety of steaks. The staff is friendly and attentive, creating a relaxed atmosphere perfect for those looking to unwind. While meals may take a bit longer to prepare, the freshness is evident in every bite. The restaurant also has a decent wine list and a selection of Real Ale. Overall, Skenfrith is highly recommended for those looking for an off-the-beaten-track dining experience."

Pleasant pub serving good pub food in a friendly atmosphere. Landlord and landlady went out of their way to make sure our evening went well. Locals friendly and good band on the night we were there. Voir le carte

We had a delicious lunch here today. The staff are absolutely superb and everything appears to be run very well. The food was delicious, especially loved the trifle. You are made to feel so welcome and the atmosphere is warm and informal. Will certainly be back.

Just had the most amazing Sunday Lunch. It's was so good. Blue Stilton brûlée with a walnut and apple starter followed by a wonderful roast beef main with beautifully cooked veg and crispy roast potatoes. The desserts were also excellent. Staff very friendly. A great find, highly recommended.

Excellent establishment. Food is great, staff pleasant and facilities good even on a wet day. It is a great watering hole for walkers doing the River Monnow walk. Every occasion is catered for from Sunday lunch to a drink in the garden on a summer evening. Would highly recommend The Bell at Skenfrith. Voir le carte

During our day trip to Monmouthshire, we stumbled upon this pub and decided to grab a bite. We ordered the Jerk chicken with rice and peas, and were thrilled with both the quality and taste of the food. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal. The children's portions were also good, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly. We will certainly be returning if we find ourselves in the area again.

The waiter/owner gave us a nice welcome with a rural touch. We ordered food (all burgers, fries, and salad), which arrived quickly. However, the burger buns were hard and the salad was limp and drenched in balsamic vinegar, which was not listed on the menu and not what we were expecting. The burger was okay, the fries were good. The meals cost £9.95 each, which was probably £6.25 too much. My daughter had a Peroni pint, which was very poor. I had a pint of Monnow bitter, which was tasteless. I mentioned all of the above at the bar when we were paying £1 each and it was deducted from the bill. It's not very likely that we will return to the neck of the woods anytime soon, but if we do, it won...
