"This pub, located not far from where we live, is a bit of a mixed bag. We visited on a couple of rainy autumn Fridays, hoping the woodburners would keep us warm, but they were not in use. The place was empty, with the heating off, and the bar staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than welcoming us, the only customers. We ended up going to another village with a more welcoming community pub. The staff turnover at the Ploughshare seems high, and it lacks consistency. It can have a good atmosphere when busy, but when it's quiet, it feels empty. It seems like more of a hobby pub for the committee and their friends, rather than catering to non-regular visitors. It reminded us of Royston Vasey and the League of Gentlemen, a local pub for local people. We had a drink and left, feeling like we had given the Ploughshare two chances. If they lit the fires, turned on the heating, and focused on customer service instead of gossiping, we might consider returning. In the meantime, we recommend trying the nearby award-winning Brisley Bell or the Swan at Gressenhall."

The duck at this pub is excellent. The ham, egg, and chips were also delicious. My partner enjoyed drinking the local beer brewed in the village. The pub is located in a beautiful community setting.

We went for a midweek lunch with my wife, two friends, and their dog at this pub. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a delicious meal along with some local beer brewed in Beeston. The cozy atmosphere with a nice log fire added to the experience. We were very impressed with the service and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. We would highly recommend trying the Chocolate Brownie as it was a standout dish. The price per person was around £20-£30.

This was our first visit to this hidden gem, and with the lack of customers on a Friday lunchtime, we can only assume that it has not been discovered by many. It is a community-run pub located in a small village in Norfolk, with a lot of history. We both ordered freshly cooked baguettes that were packed with filling and served with fresh salad. The food was delicious and filling, and the prices were reasonable. The staff at the pub were friendly and efficient, and we will definitely return to try one of their pub grub meals. We highly recommend this place and encourage others to spread the word and support this lovely establishment.
