Very very good tasty food with great service went their twice in a week the food was great both times the Gannon steak was so very tasty best meal of the week in Sidmouth

Our friends were staying here for a 3 night break, so we joined them on their first night for an evening meal. Good service and very welcoming . Would certainly recommend The Balfour Arms.

What a fantastic evening we had on Saturday! We were a big group in the garden with lots of children. You were so helpful, the children had a great time and the food was very yummy! Even though food was ordered at different times you...made an effort to get it out to us as quickly as you could altogether. We will definitely be back

I would like thank thank the staff at The Balfour Arms for two wonderful meals this week! When we arrived in Sidmouth, they were the first restaurant we went in to. We returned for a second wonderful meal this evening. The Balfour is dog friendly...and warmly welcomed our whole party, showing us to a table and promptly taking a drinks order. Food was served quickly and was piping hot. The portion sizes were great and presentation was excellent.

we were here for a night, the accommodation was first class the rooms were immaculate with tea coffee etc in the room and outside was a small fridge with fresh milk and ice cold water for them to help themselves. beautiful large en-suite and though. the room above the bar was all quiet at 11 o'clock. we ate in the evening in the restaurant and we found eating really good to appreciate. the breakfast was included and there was a large selection. would definitely return and I recommended it to my friends if they ever visit the donkey sanctuary as it is close.

We went to this pub on Friday 10th of September, our first impression of the staff was not good, the lady behind the bar was not very friendly, thankfully the girl that was waiting on us more than made up for this. We are both...vegetarians, I had the Veg Thai curry, my wife had a Spinach and chick pea curry, we also had a naan each, we asked the waitress how big the naans are, she said not very big, the naans turned out be be the smallest that we have ever seen, I could have hidden it under my mobile phone. My wife and I booked a table for a Wednesday evening as the main pub restaurants in town were fully booked. When we arrived, it was obvious we need not have booked as there were eleven tables free inside and more outside. A pleasant young...man served us, and as he was new in post was ensuring that he did and said everything correctly, which is good practice. We both chose fish, chips and peas, which came out from the kitchen 15 minutes later. A large piece of fish, a good portion of average chips and some mushy peas were enjoyed, by which time only two more couples had arrived to eat. as table of 11 for a birthday meal. initially the waiting staff was amazing that amd could not blame that she tried to do everything she could to make the experience. sadly, management was just rude. the manager himself- Debbie, decided to go a long break as soon as she heard of the waitress we wanted to complain. then to meet someone who every time I try to get involved with something in the bar and ignored me. so first on Sunday they don't offer a Sunday menu as the website suggests, but they can only order roasts, that's good we did that. only what they call a homemade roast is 3 frozen small pre-baked bratkartoffels and the smallest tasteless cuts of roast beef and a stone-hard yorkshire...
