"Visited here from a hotel visit in wadhurst which is a good 40 mins away . Looked at website and clearly stated 4pm closure in march . Drove all the way there got there at 3-05 pm . Opened door and owner was very rude . Looked at me with anger as i had dared to walk through the door at 3.05 ! And asked what I wanted . I said just a couple of coffees and a bit of cake . Where he replied “nothing is on “ your have to leave . I said that I have drove for 40 mins and website and sign outside clearly states 4pm . He just shrugged his shoulders and said “ we shut when we like “ no apology or anything . No wonder these small tourist attractions struggle to survive . I won’t be going back there . Rude arrogant and don’t take any notice of the website times !"

Spent a couple of hours here with my granddaughter. Visited the little museum, full to the ceilings with teapots. Never realised there were so many teapot designs! Advantage of a cafe right next door.

It’s lovely to walk along the river from East Peckham to Teapot Island and enjoy their breakfast from the vast menu choice, although I always seem to plump for the small English. Their afternoon tea is also worth the trip. Enjoy ....

We are a cycling club based in Dartford. We stopped here half way on our 70 ride, we placed a order for 1 portion of toast and 4 sausage sandwiches, teas and coffee. We waited a hour for our food. Avoid this place if you are in a hurry. We will not be using this place again.

Lots of sitting out space next to the river. Great play area for children and the tea and cakes were very delicious. our cake choice were all home made and one could tell from taste, texture and flavour. One drip £3 for parking is a bit much; some refund when food is ordered?

Worst experience. Came for a family breakfast. After taking our order and money informed us it was a 40 minute wait but should he quicker. One hour 5 minutes later was a served a cold awful breakfast which after the long edit was even more disappointing. Not a word of apology from anyone for the wait. Won’t be coming back

I have visited Teapot Island twice recently for breakfast. The breakfast was excellent and great value for money. The restaurant is ideally situated on an island in the river Medway, great on a summer’s day. There is ample parking nearby in a large car park which costs £3 per day or some free parking just along the road. There is a nice path to walk along the river. Highly recommended.

Arrived ready for the big breakfast. No one behind the counter so the owner had to get up and serve. He was rather abrupt and quite frankly could not be less welcoming. I know the place is up for sale, but it really shows that he really does not care. The breakfast was ok, nicely cooked, funny how there is no toast on a cooked breakfast though. Whilst sat down i overhead the owner loudly telling an elderly four to not sit at that table, that was for 6 only, they had to move to a 4! Again loud and abrupt. Nothing special, no real need to go back. Personally I would go to the pub opposite of the pop up cafe just found the corner.

I feel a bit bad having to say this but not the cleanest of places and the food was dreadful. The vegan burger was vile, hard and chewy and the bun had the texture of something that had been put in the microwave for too long. The vegetable burger was so greasy it had obviously been in a deep fryer, as had the hash browns. Possibly the worse food we have eaten anywhere in a long time. Coffee was luke warm. The chips were the only thing that were ok. The staff are friendly and helpful but the man bringing food to the tables didn't really look the part. The cutlery is manhandled into napkins and taped together for some reason, by someone without gloves, although no gloves were used at all. Not...

"I feel a bit bad about writing this, but for the first time ever there 's only 1 star and probably the longest comments I 've left. We arrived around 12:15 on a September Thursday after having a walk hungry, we fancied a pub lunch. Staff were pleasant if a bit rushed the young lady behind the bar was on her own and doing the best she could. Several things were off the menu, but we ordered a Curry of the day (Thai Green on this occasion) and sausage mash with gravy. Difficult things to screw up... After a reasonable wait, two small dishes appeared. The Thai Curry was tiny, containing a few small bits of grilled chicken in a fairly anaemic sauce, with a small amount of plain white rice on the side; the two sausages were quite small and on a small bed of mash surrounded by gravy. Both dishes were stone cold. We sent them back. Frankly, if we hadn 't paid in advance, I 'd have left at that point. A few minutes later they re appeared, along with a small dish of sweet chilli sauce and 3 small prawn crackers, two of which were not properly cooked (still solid in parts, i.e. not cooked hot or long enough). The sausages were now hot, the mash lukewarm and the gravy cloying and still pretty cold. Being fair, the very small sausages were quite tasty, but the mash was under/not seasoned and the gravy had little flavour, no onion or anything even vaguely interesting, and was still cold. The curry was a disgrace. The rice was flaccid and tasteless, the curry had almost no flavour and the chicken was watery, and pretty grim (tasteless too). Tiny portion as well. We left the curry. I did eat the sausage mash as I was really hungry, but in retrospect wished I hadn 't. I almost never leave food anywhere in the world, but I left that curry. I 'm not sure how dishes that bad could be let out of any kitchen. We complained to the waitress (who was doing her best) she asked us not to leave and a minute or two later refunded our main courses with an apology. I felt for her as she was doing her best as front of house when the kitchen was a shocker. Note that we didn 't ask for a refund or even hint, they just provided it. I 've never asked for a refund. It 's sad, as these days rural pubs need to do things right, but this wasn 't just small things; everything they could have done wrong with those two dishes they did wrong. Nothing cooked from fresh, nothing checked before leaving the kitchen, tasteless food, tiny portions, cold."
