"What a lovely café this is. Sam is an absolute delight and Geoff cooks the most delicious food. I had read the fantastic reviews before visiting Looe so was determined to visit. The wonderful reviews do not lie. Beautiful pot of cornish tea and oat milk available too which is always a bonus."

"Great little restaurant , excellent food and service , we started coming here about seven months ago and now try to come at least once a month . There is a great choice of seafood and we are working our way through the menu to try all the different fish dishes . Highly recommend , but booking advisable as it is a small cosy restaurant and every sitting is usually full . Griff and Christine"

"I left a review for this place years ago and it was a very positive one at that. Been back loads of times over the years and it’s slowly gone done hill but tonight was the last time for me. Mixed starter where everything...was deep fried and soggy, even the token salad was soggy. Monk fish stir fry with six very small pieces of battered monk fish. Pad Thai with very little flavour. Egg fried rice. House red which is all they served in the shape of wine which really wasn’t very nice and my partner didn’t even drink a quarter it was that bad. All that for Do you ever feel like you’ve been robbed?"

"Just amazing every time we go. Izzy manages a joyous level of personal attention, even at the end of a long summer season has even rung up to ask if we wanted an outside table instead of the inside one we'd booked, because the sun was unexpectedly shining. Fish is invariably absolutely fresh just what is available on the market that day. And Max cooks it to perfection never overdone, never waiting around. Sea trout yesterday that was off the menu list, but in the kitchen, and succulent as only day boat fish can be. Seasoning dead on, and generous use of saffron and butter. The ambience is just like sitting in a friend's house, with a very attentive host nothing ridiculously grand, everything done wonderfully, and you feel very welcome. Slightly surprising seeing a few complaints of over pricing perhaps they don't understand how expensive good fresh food is to buy nowadays. Far from rip off prices for this sort of quality. Every friend we've ever taken notes down the details so that they can go again."

"we visited the old sail loft restaurant during our weekend in looe. it is in a very rustic old building, and also had a beautiful outside terrace area. unfortunately it rained during our visit, so we could not enjoy the outside area. we used their 2 course set menu, which was very good for £22 (at the time of writing). the duck parfait was raised and the hake kiew was also very tasty, even a little on the small side. service was also friendly. if they are looking for a delicious meal in a beautiful environment, then the old sail loft restaurant will surely tickle all the boxes in looe."
