Just returned from Sweet Basil sfter enjoying a superb Chinese meal.The service was very good and the food delicious. The restaurant was very busy decor lovely all in all I couldn't fault it.

We haven't been for a few years but this place ticks all the boxes for a wonderful Chinese/Thai meal. We booked early as we had a three year old with us but it filled up very quickly. Lots to choose on the menu and attentive service throughout we enjoyed our various dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Loved it! Voir le carte

For an English style Chinese restaurant it was not bad at all. The food was quite tasty (though I never can understand why chefs who are stir frying feel the need to use pre cooked meat fresh meat is so much tastier). I sat for 15 minutes after eating my main course waiting to be asked if I would like a desert, drink or coffee but no one came so in the end I just went to the bar to pay and left.

I've changed my review following our recent visit. This used to be a really good restaurant, with great atmosphere and excellent food and a wonderful team. But. Over the last few years we've noticed cut backs. Good staff have gone. Tables are no longer dressed, menus are now just the takeaway leaflets and the food is just ok. However, last night we didn't exist for the servers and had to go to the desk to get our order taken. There were five or so tables in use but a stream of takeaway orders, which was the obvious priority for them. From being a great place to eat this has now become just an average takeaway, that has a restaurant attached.

We have been here a number of times over the years, and although we have found the food average, the service always friendly and attentive and much appreciated so overall we have enjoyed the experience. However the food on our visit this week really was not very nice. We ordered Pad Thai and it was gloopy , fruity and hadn’t been near a peanut, and the prawns rubbery it was like a Chinese take on a classic Thai dish so if you like Pad Thai this probably is not what to order. The rubbery and tasteless vegetarian spring rolls were not much better. We have had Pad Thai here before and enjoyed it, but not any more, we were served up an entirely different and unappetising dish. Voir le carte
