"As we were in Stranraer on a Saturday evening wanting food we decided to pop in here as from the outside it looked very nice appearances can be deceptive. There was only one other couple in the Restaurant on a Saturday evening this should have started the alarm bells ringing but we persevered. We were sat at a table for 2 even though there were lots of tables for 4 available, we asked three times to be moved but this was 'not possible as they were all booked ' this turned out to be utter rubbish as whilst we were eating at least two other couples arrived and were seated at a table for 4. The waiter (possibly the Manager) was very miserable and said they didnt serve Alcohol despite there being Wine Glasses on the Table which was acceptable. There was No Sparkling Water or Sugar Free Drinks were available either yet they brought a Diet Coke to another table. We ordered the food, the Onion Bhajis arrived and they were obviously bought in and not prepared on the premises. We asked for Bombay Chicken without the Boiled Egg on Top again this was 'not possible ', we still cant work out why !. The Garlic Naan was just a Plain Naan absolutely smothered in Easy Garlic. We asked for some Fresh Chillies to be put on top of the Chicken Tikka again 'not possible, we only have Chilli Paste ' an Indian Restaurant without Chillies ??? unheard of. Chicken Bhuna was very bland and tasteless as was the Pilau Rice. The Manager was very conveniently nowhere to be seen when we asked for the Bill. The Waitress asked if everything as ok and we had tell her of our huge disappointment, she actually said that there had been lots of complaints of late. Do yourselves a big favour if you are in Stranraer and avoid this place. When we left there were still tables for 4 vacant too, The biggest worry was there was NO Hand Drying facilities in the Gents surely in these times of Covid this is very dangerous as well as being unhygienic too"

The food was lovely, one of the best curry's I've had, hospitality was not great and some staff were very rude. Do not serve alcohol so you have to take your own alcoholic drinks, not the end if the world but a very nice curry.

Please check reviews for Temple Cuisine. This is the same place. It’s awful, filthy and service is terrible. We ate there and the place is filthy, couldn’t even get our order right. Husband went to the loo which he had to pass the kitchen and said we were leaving

Here we go again. Every time I place an order I get a phone call from the restaurant asking for me to collect instead of delivery. This time they totally refused to deliver. They obviously don’t want to do business so I won’t deal with them again. Good luck everyone if ordering from them.

Awful rude staff got order wrong then would not give us our order. Shouted at us over the phone so we lost £45 and did not get our food. Tiny portions and no taste to food. Far too expensive for the awful mess they make of the food. A disgrace to Good Curry restaurants Beware they over charge too.

To start with I want to say the food was excellent. However, I have to agree with other reviews. There is no atmosphere and the staff were not very friendly or attentive. No drinks other than soft drinks was not a deal breaker but would have been nice to know before taking order. Not sure I would go back.

We aren't local, but whilst visiting the area we have had quite a few take aways over the last four years-always delivered to where we were staying and always good value. Tried to order online, but decided just to pop in. Only my opinion, but quite over priced for a tasty but mediocre and small meal. 90p for one takeaway poppadom! Another £1 for chutney to go with it! No veg pakora available and don't start me on the price for one rice... £30 for a very minimal takeaway for two-still hungry and no usual lunch for tomorrow. V disappointed

this place was really amazing and good, unfortunately they do not serve alcohol, as the owner of the place said late one night they would come a lot of people from the pub so that he should not see why he should sell more alcohol, as customers thier own alcohol buy and consume in the restaurant that was amazing, the service was brilliant. it is a family business that they have made an amazing job that runs it. whoever has their will has a good experience regarding the kitchen people forget his another type of kitchen his a bangladeshi not indain nor his Pakistani cuisine his the kitchen shape bangladesch when they pop they will never stop going there that is sure

Arrived and waiter was at the door. He didn’t acknowledge us and I asked for a table for 2. The reply was “we don’t serve alcohol “ Ok it’s not a deal breaker, can we have a table. From a very limited menu (not even pakora on starter menu, and £1 per popadom) I chose tandoori chicken. Regular Indian diners will know this comes on the bone, as it stated on the menu. The waiter eventually came back and said your tandoori chicken will have to be off the bone. Ok but is that not just chicken tikka? We weren’t offered to order drinks so we asked for soft drinks. I had Diet Coke which was close to a pint. My partner lemonade. The coke was absolutely flat, I couldn’t drink it. Charged £7.80 for the...

"My wife found this when looking for a place for us to spend our wedding anniversary. It sounded good on paper. It was a long and tedious drive for us though and I wasn’t sure it was worth it. I was totally wrong! This place is superb and well worth any drive! The setting is great-it has its own beach and there is a small patio where you can sit and there is a heater there too if you need it. There’s a nice lawn in front of the hotel too where those with dogs took them for a walk. The rooms are all different and all well appointed with their own en suite. The costs of the rooms reflects the size of the room and not the facilities. If you are tall like me (6ft 2) I wouldn’t go for one of the rooms in the roof as the coomb ceiling is a pain. However the thing you go there for is the food and that is sublime! It is a set menu in the evening which reduces waste and helps control costs. You get 7 courses, all quite small , but at the end of the meal you are adequately fed but not full. We were there for 3 nights and had a different meal every night. All the dishes were superb but we had mushroom soup one night and it was the best soup I have ever tasted! In fact it was one of the best foods I have ever tasted! The breakfast is very good indeed and you can order whatever you like from the menu which is very comprehensive. I found that set me up for the whole day and I didn’t need a lunch. I must also mention the wine. The wine list is very comprehensive with some difficult to come by wines in it too like Chateau Musar. On 2 nights we went with the wine pairing list which I thought was very good value, especially the cheaper of the 2 lists we had every night. The hotel is a good centre for seeing things in the local area and , despite going in November we found things to occupy ourselves for the 3 days we were there. They have various themed weekends too which sound brilliant. But the hotel is so good it is worth going to anytime. We will certainly be back."
