This place is great to check out in the summer, food is uniquely Austrian and the table service is an added bonus. Definitely try the Apple Strudel - it is to die for.

Went here on a recommendation of our host and the views are stunning over Salzburg as the sun sets. Food good - especially the pork schnitzel. The kasnocken (gnocci) was enjoyed by the kids though neither finished their portion as quite rich.

This place allows people to close the whole place down to the public in order for a private function - when it's 28.c heat a sign at the bottom of the hill forewarning that it was shut would have saved us and other unhappy people a traipse uphill.

I'm a wiener schnitzel fanatic and this was one the best I've ever had! The beer is great, especially the grapefruit radler. The service was fast and friendly. Make a reservation to ensure you get a spot along the balcony for dinner. Great for large groups!

Beautifully Austrian indeed, but seemingly hospitable to naive tourists like me.The beer was lovely, and the staff where very friendly. Also, it probably provides the best view of the city from and bar or restaurant. This is undoubtedly my favorite place to drink in Salzburg.

The staff are most helpful. There are three terraces on which you can sit to eat and drink whilst looking over the old city. The lowest terrace is mainly for food with the table closest to the city showing reserved signs - reserved for diners not drinkers. You can sit at the inner layer of tables to drink and still experience the view. Good selection of beers and seating with shade.

This place was recommended by our guide when on a tour or Munich and Salzburg where we stopped for dinner. We had had a full day of sightseeing so it was great to get in the warm beer hall (it had been snowing all day in April) and enjoy the lovely Stiegl beer.This venue is up a hill which gives it a prime location for fantastic views of Salzburg. Sadly we did not really get to enjoy this aspect of this place due to the weather but you could imagine day or evening in nice weather it would be beautiful here.
