"We went to Mamma's Restaurant 3/9/23 for lunch around 1:30pm. We ordered 2 senior citizens lunches, which consists of small fish and chips, mushy peas a slice of bread and butter and a pot of tea. The pot of tea arrived within a few minutes. Our son joined us and ordered Scampi and chips a portion of gravy and a can of pop. His meal and drink arrived within 10 minutes and he began to tuck in, ours had not yet arrived. A further 5 to 10 minutes later my wife's fish and chips arrived and she tucked in, mine had still not arrived. When my wife was half way through her meal, mine finally arrived, at which point I asked if we could have the bread and butter which was part of the meal deal, we waited and my wife had actually finished her meal when we asked again for the bread and butter and were told it was on its way. We waited, the same member of staff who assured me the bread and butter was on its way then brought and served the meals to the table next to us. I asked again for the bread and butter, which finally came after about another 5 minutes. By this time my wife and son had finished eating and I was almost finished. The food was good, but the service was absolutely atrocious and at a cost of almost £37 for the 3 of us, is unacceptable. Unfortunately I will not eat here again and would not recommend to anyone I know to do so, after our experience."

"Prior to COVID, I was blessed to travel to many places famed for their pizza New York City, Chicago, Naples. None of them have come close to this small Cumbrian stall tucked away in Carlisle Market. I can honestly say it is by far the best pizza I have ever tried. Freshly made with the finest of ingredients; the flavour, smell and texture are all perfect. Sometimes the stall can get busy, but I guarantee you it is worth the wait. Grab a slice and drink and enjoy people watching it is perfection. My only issue is they have to close! Please please open late so I can get Romano pizza for takeout at night!!!"

"Nice, warm and lovely place. Already have been in there a couple of times but never had the chance to take some pictures and to write a review. The food was always good and never had any issues, the staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are decent for food and drinks. We’ll definitely revisit the place at some point."

"The food at this restaurant is delightful with plenty of options to choose from. The service is top-notch, making it a great spot for a lunch outing. The price per person ranges from £80 to £90, but it is well worth it for the quality of food and service. I highly recommend trying the Pad Thai, Belly Pork Prawn Stir Fry, and Tom Yum for a delicious meal. The atmosphere is also lovely, earning a 5-star rating in my book."

"I have used the Ruen loads pre COVID and not only is the food excellent but the service was second to none. We visited for the first time since COVID recently and the good news is the food has not suffered at all. We had a delicious meal and as good as it always was. The staff were, are and continue to be really lovely however service pre COVID was like a military operation so precise and organised. Not quite as good this time. Drinks took a little while to arrive and simple things were just not quite right for example hot plates brought and put down for the mains which had gone cool by time the food arrived, had to ask for cutlery for mains, this wouldn’t have happened pre COVID. Don’t take this review wrong it is a great restaurant food excellent staff lovely I highly recommend it, however it’s lost a bit of its precise service. I suspect that it is operating on reduced staffing at present which might explain it but otherwise a delicious meal and really friendly staff as always and we will defo be back. It would be 6 stars from me if old service precision returns!"
