"Visited South Forest swimming pool 3 days ago whilst in the area visiting family as my 2 year old is swimming mad! Will not be going again... The changing rooms were filthy, I didn 't even put my 2 YO on the floor! Walked through to the pool and the foot bath didn 't even have any water in it. The pool in general was old and tired, full of rust and grime everywhere, the slide looks as if it 'll collapse at any minute. The pool water had god knows what floating around in it, I 'd love to know when it was last cleaned! Jacuzzi not working. Life guards were friendly enough and on exit I asked the lady on reception if there were any plans to refresh it etc? She looked embarrassed and said the only thing planned was the jacuzzi to be fixed and that she keeps telling 'them ' it needs a refresh. TBH a good clean would be a start... And it costs £5.20 for an adult, £3.90 (I think) for a 2 YO, whereas most places are free and if you want to sit on the side you have to pay 50p! Where is the money going??? Very disappointed and won 't be going again."

Water was a bit cool and the whole place could do with a bit of a revamp , it's nice to have somewhere to swim naked though .

Used to come here a lot, but things change and we stopped going. So, with needing to raise fitness and lose weight we came to start swimming again. Oh dear, it has gone downhill and needs a fair bit of maintenance, not up to scratch, will not use again until we hear some money has been spent. Voir le carte

A group of about 30 wet and bedraggled walkers visited the Leisure Centre for a lunch stop on our charity walk. We couldn't have been made more welcome. We were given our own room, our 2 well-behaved dogs were allowed in the special area, they allowed us to pre-order our food, which came out very promptly and were made to feel very welcome. Food was of a good quality at a good price.Thank you Julie and the team.

We had tried other places local for a meal and all booked up so called in to South Forest. It was empty which made us unsure as to how good the meals would be but after looking at the menu decided to give it a try. All of our meals were lovely. The steak (medium rare) cooked to perfection and hardly any fat. All our plates were empty, all food enjoyed. It was quiet but we could talk and didn’t realise how long we had been there in the end because we were so comfortable. Would definitely go back and soon.

Awful experience in the bar. Went to place an order for food and the bar maid would only serve the regulars who she knew.. Didnt acknowledge me and I had to say it was my turn or I wouldn't have got served as she bipassed me to deal with another regular who came in well after I was there. To top it off I didn't get the drinks I ordered. The young waitress that brought our food was good though. She went and sorted our drinks when we said we hadn't been given them but have paid for them. We were given them in takeaway beakers and not in glasses. Can't fault the waitress for helping though.Wouldnt recommend to anyone. Voir le carte

Note this review is about the swimming baths within the complex and nothing else. We go because its fairly local and good parking. So in the past I've always balanced good and bad points. But today was breaking point. We take our granddaughter so we expect a certain level of cleanliness. The changing room floors and changing cubicles were disgusting, these had not been cleaned for hours if at all that day. The water was cold and to top it off one of the lifeguards had a door open to the outside!! Maybe he was hot talking to the female lifeguard? The water was murky also. I'm reporting this to the local ELO. The whole place wants a full refurb.

where do i start with this place ! hygiene obviously isn 't something they take seriously, the changing rooms are dirty, mould in places and the paintwork looking like its not been done since the 70 's, chipped door frames, dirty scum around the tiles, it just looks like it 's not looked after and left to deteriorate. The pool is the same ! rusty slide and pipes , grit all around inside the pool and scum marks where the water levels are and on the water edges. The baths is in desperate need of a over-hall and cleanup. The whole place feels unclean and unhygienic. Also a word of warning for anyone who takes kids, especially in the male changing rooms, many older guys wondering around and taki...

"I’ve just realised I’ve been visiting The Beck for over 20 years now for both drinks and meals with friends and family and I’ve never written a review! The Beck for me is home from home and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited. They say a business is only as good as it’s staff, and maybe this is why The Beck has lasted so long with a reputation for a relaxed atmosphere good food and good service. The staff here are friendly, caring and professional, I’ve never been anywhere where I felt so at home as The Beck. Edward, Julie, Theresa, Kieran and not forgetting Trish in the kitchen make the place what it is! In 20 years I’ve never had a bad meal here, the food is excellent, and today did not disappoint. I was treating my parents and wife to a belated Mother’s Day and Dad’s birthday meal out, I had the lamb roast which was sublime and my dad had the blade of beef which in his words was “melt in your mouth” good! My Wife had a chilli and my Mum had the flat bread, which were also very nice and portions are plentiful. My daughter has Dairy and Soya allergies and wanted sausages and mash however the mash had butter in it so they made it with chips instead, she also cleared her plate! If you want to go somewhere with a nice warm friendly atmosphere and excellent food at very reasonable prices then The Beck is definitely worth a visit."
