Smithy Fold - Carte

Stopped in for dinner one night whilst staying in the area for work. The food was well cooked and well priced as ever. The staff were friendly and polite.

A fine example of what Wetherspoons' do well. Pub style cuisine of good quality and at excellent prices. Staff were friendly and service prompt. We shared a spicy meat pizza, nice crispy base and generous toppings.

Attended recently with my young son for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the food on offer and very happy we came. for two meals with drinks and a dessert each was fantastic and despite the low cost, the food was lovely and well...cooked. My curry was Devine and red hot whilst my son had a very decent steak cooked to perfection. Would recommend Voir le carte

First of all we had a lovely meal served by friendly efficient staff. The downside was that there were families in there that were not following guidelines, their children were running around the room, rolling on the floor and basically upsetting other people who were...trying enjoy their meal. These families were moving between tables without putting their masks on.

Rudely Took my kopperberg that I’d already drunk from away from me when I’m and legally allowed an alcoholic beverage with a meal at a restaurant with a parent which my mother was with me. I’d read through their code of conduct and seen...nothing about that not being allowed. Disrupted me for it mid way through my meal and made me miserable. Won’t be coming here anymore.

My husband and I visited this restaurant today while shopping in Glossop. It was busy during lunchtime, but we were able to find a table. The menu on the app had limited choices because many items were out of stock. We both ordered wraps, which arrived quickly. However, I was disappointed to find that my sweet chili wrap had no sauce, only chicken. Despite this issue, we enjoyed our lunch and would consider returning, preferably during a less busy time. I had a negative experience with one of the doormen at this restaurant. I was asked to finish my drink quickly after ordering it at last call, without being given any drinking up time. I was also told that this policy has been in place since I was old enough to drink, which was unnecessary. When I expressed my displeasure, I was rudely told not to come back. In my opinion, the attitude of the staff was not welcoming and I believe that customer service should be a top priority in the hospitality industry. I have worked in the industry for years and have a good understanding of how a pub/bar should be managed, and this was not it. I found the previous doorman to be much more professional.

We are local residents and frequent this establishment as our go-to pub. The prices here are surprisingly low compared to other pubs, and they offer a variety of real ales that change frequently. While not all of the ales suit my taste, I must mention that the John Willie Lees tap takeover was disappointing. However, I understand that everyone has different preferences. What sets this place apart is the fantastic staff. I want to extend my gratitude to Gina, Meg, Megan, Amy, Damon (who is currently at the Ashton location), and Dale. Today, Monday November we attended The Smithy Fold, at Glossop. It’s home to us as our local and we have genuinely never had a bad word to say. However today was a little different. Me and my partner are celebrating our four year...anniversary today and we decided to go as we’ve been at work all day on long hours! I ordered the Bacon and Brie burger and it was an amazingly tasty burger. It wasn’t until I was close to finishing it when I almost ate a large piece of plastic, probably off of the food boxes as it said ‘open’ similar to a seal on a lid.
