Schon die Bahnfahrt von Wilderswil (584 m.ü.M. auf die Schynige Platte (1967 m.ü.M. mit der über 100 jährigen historischen Zahnradbahn ist ein Erlebnis. Der einzigartige Blick auf Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau wird in den vollbesetzten Wagen von den Passagieren auf den alten Holz-bänken mit einem langen AAAH und OOOH registriert. Nach dem Besuch des Botanischen Alpengartens ist eine MIttags-Rast im Jahr 2011 erweiterten Berghotel angesagt. Die rasche und freundliche Bedienung bietet auf der grossen Sonnen-Terrasse kleine und grössere Mittagessen zu einem vernünftigen Preis an. We did the overnight deal for 144 CHF each and stayed in the hotel. That included a 4 course meal and traditional Swiss breakfast with our stay and the round trip train from Winderswil. We got up to the Platte around 1pm and hiked the beautiful Panorama trail (about 3.7 miles) The hotel has amazing charm and very traditional Swiss style with nice, private shared bathrooms and showers. The food was outstanding and so was the helpful and polite staff. This is one of the best deals in Switzerland for a gorgeous hike and amazing views. We visited the Berghotel Schynige Platte as part of the Dine&Sleep summer campaign, in which train travel, dinner, overnight stays and a breakfast buffet are offered at very good value for money. In the spacious winter room we found many old decorative objects: ancient ice skates and skis, nostalgic ski photos... We were fascinated by the ceiling, from which a starry sky shone in the dark. fantastic. It also had a sink with towels, there was a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. Dann mal zum Kritikpunkt. 17:05UhrWir betraten zu zweit das Restaurant Schynige Platte oberhalb Wilderswil.Da es schon später war, fragten wir bei einer Mitarbeiterin nach, ob wir noch etwas nehmen dürften, was bejaht wurde. Zwischen 17:10 17:15UhrAufgabe der Bestellung: 1x Kaffee Creme, 1x Cappuccino, 1x Eiskaffee und eine Coupe Dänemark. Alles soweit so gut.Um ca 17:20 kamen die bestellten Kaffee’s und kurz darauf dann ebenfalls der Eiskaffee und die Dänemark.
