"This is the second time we went, and we agreed that it has improved quite a bit over the last year or so. We had rice with green/red curry and stir-fried pork. It was spicy and tasty. Very good, reasonably priced for covered market food. I think this is one of the top 5 Asian food places in Oxford. We will definitely go again. Unfortunate that it is not possible to order take away from home, so it might it take a little longer until we come back. We know Asian food as we lived in South-East Asia for years. This is very decent food and not too expensive for UK standards, really. Give it go if you are around. If you like Thai food, you won't be disappointed."

Went here chose the pork and spring roll everything was cold never again. Go to the place opposite to Donburi Inn far better

Just amazing. Cheap, fast, incredibly tasty, authentic and friendly. Awesome. Best Thai I’ve had in the UK for bloomin’ years.

Great cheap lunch spot for Thai food lovers based in Oxford. But beware of the spicy signs it goes way beyond what you imagine. Voir le carte

The portion of the meal is quite less and is not average. Once the cash machine fell into the dish when paying the bill. I asked for a change but only got unwillingness and less portion of dish.

While queuing to order, I witnessed a customer return his food after he’d tried it saying it was too spicy. The man behind the counter took the plate of food from the customer and emptied the contents back into the main container from which they were serving.

The food was poor and service even worse. We ordered garlic chicken with rice it was basically a plate of rice with some chicken on the top. When it came to paying the young girl struggled to understand basic English she was very perplexed. At the table the food tasted bland. I wouldn't go here again there is much better street food on the outdoor market. Voir le carte

I lived in Thailand for 7 years and I felt right at home in this place. From the smells, the sights, the place settings and the condiment set up...all very authentic. It felt like being back in the side streets of Bangkok. Service was prompt and efficient. I had the red beef curry and my friend had the chicken cashew. We both cleaned our plates. Good value.

really tasty eating and decent portions for a very reasonable price. large selection of nudel, rice and curry dishes, but not overwhelming. the restaurant itself has very limited seating opportunities and can be fairly busy, therefore takeaway is often a better option. service is quite fast so a long line can also move quite fast. in any case recommend for a nice lunch.

"I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph. For mains we had the ackee and callaloo Jerk Tempah (vegetarian) and the Jerk chicken. Both came with rice peas, plaintain and salad. Not only were the portions huge the flavours of both dishes were just mind blowingly delicious. Then we embarked on dessert and had the beautiful spiced rum cake and a selection of 3 home made ice creams namely Coconut, Guinness and the old Caribbean favourite Rum and Raisin, all recommended by the owner. It's at this point I feel compelled to speak about the rum raisin ice cream. I've eaten this ice cream on numerous occasions at numerous locations in Jamaica over my many years and I tell you no word of a lie this was hands down the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever tasted, it literally left us speechless. So to summarise, this place has great food, great music, great service and a wonderfully charming owner who's totally invested in serving great, incredibly tasty, authentic Caribbean food clearly prepared with love. What more could you ask for. Fair to say it was meant to be. Uncle Jay."
