"Walked around Krems looking dinner after a long (100 km) day cycling. Needed protein and vegetables. Schmid's did not disappoint. The huftsteak (which I learned was rump steak) was a satisfying 220 gm and cooked exactly to my specification. I added a pepper sauce and a delicious side of grilled mixed veggies. It was all quite delicious. Schmid's has an extensive beer menu with 7 on tap and a comprehensive range of 80!bottled beers and ciders. In addition, a large number of wines are available. Service was very friendly (staff were fluent with English) and the establishment has an atmosphere that would not be out of place in any university town with touches of corrugated iron and rough sawn (but properly finished) timber and engaging background music. Should I return to Krems am Donau, I'll be coming back to Schmid's for sure."

"Ausgefallenes Ambiente, sowie sehr stilvoll eingerichtetes Lokal. Es erwartet sie Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal! Serviert werden Griechische Spezialitäten für alle Geschmäcker. Die Portionen sind groß und ausreichend. Preis/Leistung ist auch in diesem Lokal gut Alles in allem ein sehr zu empfehlendes Lokal !"

"das trendige Lokal liegt mitten in der Fußgängerzone in Krems. sieht total nett und gemütlich aus und mit viel liebe zum Detail dekoriert. sehr kreative und gesunde Speisen (auch vegan), sowie gibt es jeden Tag Mittagsmenüs zu einem guten Preis. Service ist sehr freundlich und rasch. der schokokuchen war ein Traum, so auch der speck-wrap. zudem gibt's auch noch Frühstück, welches ich leider (bis jetzt) noch nicht probiert habe."

"2.5 stars... Surprisingly not good. No issues with staff or the place. Both felt normal for the 2 stars. 0.5 star for price (if the food tasted good a 1). Missing 2 stars comes from the expectation of taste from the food. I ordered some kind of herr fretzl (hope I remembered correctly) and pancakes. I had just finished a half marathon, so I was hungry. It came, I salivated at how it looked and went right in. The herr F. was soooooo much bread and so little ham, cheese and egg, I ran out of water trying to get it down. It was somehow bland from the lack of butter or proper balance of ingredients. Even with salting and peppering it nothing could save it. Then there are the eggs. I don't get why Austrians like snot (the undercooked wigglies next to the yoke) while they eat. Whatever, too hungry to care as I'm sure the pancakes can salvage things. Nope. I have never tasted anything more odd than these. I don't know if they forgot an ingredient in the mixture, but the pancake itself was so dry, thick and tastless. I had a chocolate sauce, nuts and berries with it but could barely taste them with every bite of pancake. Sorry to the owner, but I've traveled a lot and tasted a lot in my life. This was very strange and unpleasing."
