"First I must praise this establishment for it's diverse, delicious, house-made, and made-from-scratch menu. On weekdays they have a sampler lunch special which is set daily that rotates through their menu for 12€, that always includes assortments of lamb (1), chicken (2), vegetable (3), dessert, naan (Indian bread), chutney, yogurt, tamarind sauce, etc (they have an alternate vegetarian version).I hadn't had authentic house-made chai like this place has since I was in Afghanistan. The first time I went here was with a colleague on a weekend when they have the weekend buffet. I'm skeptical of buffets but I was thoroughly impressed that quality was not sacrificed for the increased quantity... and let me emphasize again that the yogurt, bread, chutneys, chai, etc are house-made.The proprietor is super friendly and eager to accommodate. Also, I was here on 27APR17 for lunch and saw Morena Baccarin's doppelgänger eating with a friend. If she's reading this, I'd like to chat and my email address is [email protected] but I go by Richard or Richie."

I was surprised about the food. I helped myself at the buffet. The selection was very nice and the quality of the food was good. The staff was very nice.

Been wondering about this place as I pass it on my way to work every day. Finally stopped for lunch. The chicken tikka musala was amazing. Just what I hoped for. Staff speaks German and English well. My wife is vegetarian and they have a huge vegetarian and vegan menu. Would recommend!

Great lunch spot! The lunch special is very good, 3 different meals to choose from. In addition, you get rice and naan for 10€! The butter chicken was good, alittle too sweet compared to other Indian restaurants. Service was great, they accept card. There is also a parking lot and outdoor seating.

We saw an advertisement in the base newspaper and decided to give it a try. LOVED IT! When you first walk in, it is so clean and has an amazing scent. We were greeted by a friendly host and was given clean, nice looking menus. We ordered two appetizers, two chicken dishes with rice and two orders of cheese naan. EVERYTHING was so AMAZINGLY good. My new favorite restaurant in Kaiserslautern!!! Voir le carte

Tried it based on the reviews but it is really hit or miss. Unfortunately our experience was a miss. Atmosphere is great, clean, and incense smells nice. Service was good, but the food was just bland. The tandoori chicken was too salty and lamb tikka barely had flavor. Appetizer chicken pakoras were dry stale, possibly leftover. The soup looked like frozen veggies were used and had corn it it, not something I expected. I hope they can improve on the quality of the food. Until then I would not recommend it.

So we haven't been paying attention to Royal Aroma lately, and were cravin' Indian buffet and naan and rice and... they don't do it anymore. Apparently the restaurant is still open, but the buffet is only once a month, now it's a' la carte. Except when there's a buffet you just dabble in what looks good, so we didn't really know what our favorite dishes were called. Ended up with a tandoori chicken taco that took up half a plate and lamb saag with naan. Interesting idea with the taco, but had to take out the giant chunks of veggies and green olives?!? Good enough but very disappointing overall. We won't be cravin' this place again for a long while. Nothing exciting or hit-out-of-the-park any...

"Holiday, nice weather and still what to do in Kaiserslautern. We planned our start in Kaiserslautern with a light lunch. We visited Ayame for the first time 3 years ago. It is located in the former JVA Kaiserslautern, which was converted a few years ago into the Hotel Alcatraz. A Japanese restaurant fits well here, because the Japanese garden borders directly on the building. We have free parking in the courtyard. Schlichter hotel entrance, only hidden hints at the restaurant The way to the small restaurant leads past the reception. At 13.45 we entered the small restaurant with few seats and hoped to have a seat. Open until 14.00. A long-term construction site on the way to Kaiserslautern forced us to a rather large detour. We were the only guests, were warmly welcomed by a young man. Our question whether we get anything else to eat was kindly hunted. So we took a seat in the small, Japanese-style dining room and got the menu. Optic hasn't changed much since our last visit. Everything is clean and well maintained, bare tables. Daylight only illuminates the room. Unfortunately, you can't look outside. . The menu surprised me. She was partly handwritten and so completely different from my memory. Due to the advanced time, we decided very quickly: 2 large mineral water € 2.50 Foreway to crumb: Edamame € 4.20 For both of us: Sushi Menu € 13.80: Miso Soup, 3 Sushi Nigiri, 4 pieces Hosomaki, 8 pieces Uramaki Our drinks came immediately and well cooled. A good portion of the salted soybeans a little later. The hot beans in the bowl were a tasty crackling beforehand. The young man supported a (his? wife in the open kitchen. Here I was able to observe how the Misosuppe was tasted and the lady freshly prepared our sushi. That made all a very good impression. View into the open kitchen The steaming soup with tofu insert tasted mild and yet aromatic according to the Wakamealga. After a reasonable waiting period, our sushi were served. Very appealing. The 3 Nigiri classic with salmon, shrimp and tuna. The “Makis” pefect rolled, very good in taste. Overall a good portion, we were pleasantly tired. There was really nothing to complain about for the price. Sushi Menu The young man was very attentive, but to expect from two guests. In between the question whether everything tastes. Wasabi, soy sauce and ginger were handed down. In the case of numbers, the solution for the significantly different menu. The young Japanese couple only took over the restaurant a few weeks ago. This also explained that some processes have not yet been very routined. Stay to hope that the small restaurant will talk to friends of Japanese cuisine. Despite proximity to the city, it is very hidden in the building complex. Running is not coming over here and not every hotel guest likes Sushi. The toilets belong to Hotel Alcatraz, are modern, very clean and well maintained. Restaurant and toilets are walkable and without stairs."
