Don't bother visiting. Waited an hour for food which we ended up getting a refund for. Lager shandy was flat. Staff too young and inexperienced. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot

Used to be, effectively, my regular. As always, a warm, friendly welcome. Attentive staff. Fair priced drinks (for South Essex). A wet Saturday night Halloween event, with band AOB. Just very chilled, with rocky overtones. Standard menu, which from experience is perfectly fine. Specials menu looks lush. Enjoyed my walk down memory lane immensely. Went today for lunch and the starter was overcooked and chewy (squid). I had macaroni cheese for main and it tasted like it had come out of a tin, very processed taste. Side of bread which was very dry. Such a shame really as it has a nice restaurant area and looks like it should serve decent quality food from the outside, but the reality is very different. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed or if something else was happening, but we visited on a Sunday and waited an hour and five minutes for our main courses. About 40 minutes in, a staff member checked to see if our food had arrived and said he would ask the kitchen, but he never returned to update us. We continued to wait, assuming our meals were on their way. I ordered the fishcakes, which unfortunately arrived with parts of the coating burnt. The pub itself is absolutely charming, but the service just didn’t meet expectations.

I recently visited The Rose Inn for the first time, and it was a delightful experience. I went with my family, including both adults and children, and we all decided to try the Sunday roasts. We were not disappointed! The food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. The desserts were just as enjoyable, making for a truly relaxing afternoon; we could have easily stayed much longer. The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the pub itself is beautiful. The average cost per person was around £20–30.

It had been a while since we had been to the Rose Inn. We visited on a Saturday afternoon it was fairly quiet so we sat down for some late lunch. We ordered starters and main courses. When the starters came out 45mins after we ordered them we were a little disappointed. We then waited for our plates to be cleared but this didn't happen until our main course then appeared. The main courses were disappointing, for the price, the portions were quite small. I had the fish cakes which were extremely greasy, they were meant to be on a bed of rocket, however they seemed to have a smallish garnish of rocket, these were more of a starter rather than a £15 main course.
