"Super friendly service from charming staff. The menu was varied to suit many tastes and with less choice of Indian food than we expected . However, the main dishes were all delicious and the desserts were good too. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and we would recommend it particularly for families with kids."

"Mit einer Gruppe Geniesser sind wir aus Zürich angereist, um uns hier an einem Samstag Nachmittag verwöhnen zu lassen. Es hat sich definitiv gelohnt. Wir wurden mit offenen Armen (und Flaschen) durch Nik und Simon empfangen und anschliessend bewirtet, dass kein Wunsch offen blieb. Ihre zuvorkommende und aufgestellte Art ist sehr ansteckend.Das Menü wurde extra für uns nach unserem gewählten Motto zusammen gestellt und dazu wurden passende Weine serviert.Unsere Plätze waren im Gärtli wo es besonders gemütlich war. Jedoch haben uns auch die Plätze im Innern sehr gut gefallen...Das Lokal ist etwas versteckt in einer gemütlichen Nebengasse aber jederzeit einen Besuch wert."

"Freundlicher Empfang am Anfang. Die Abendkarte verfügt über eine ausreichende Auswahl an Gerichten. Wir hatten einen Nüsslersalat und eine Tomatensuppe zur Vorspeise. Hier muss man sagen, die Suppe war eher eine Tomatensauce als eine Suppe, vor allem das Geschirr wo die Suppe serviert wird müsste überdacht werden und der Nüsslersalat kann man mit mehr Nüsslisalat bestücken. Aber sonst in Ordnung. Die Hauptgänge waren gut. Einzig kleiner Kritikpunkt, die Spare Rib waren jetzt nicht so speziell wie sie angepriesen wurden in der Speisekarte. Sehr freundliches Personal!"

"Zimmer kann ich nicht bewerten, da ich im Hotel nicht übernachtet habe. Von mir ein grosses Bravo hier ist der Gast willkommen, an Freundlichkeit wird nicht gespart, wie auch auf der Rösti an Käse nicht. Vom Service über Qualität, Präsentation beim Essen fehlt hier überhaupt nichts. Ich bin nicht das erste mal hier und auch nicht dass letzte Mal. Gäbe es Sterne, würde ich die vergeben. Service: 5 Location: 5"

"I was about to put a review about how rude were both the owner and his partner that I bumped into the review of another customer that I will copy below. It fully expresses my feelings. The only difference with it is that we went for lunch and they went for dinner. The arrogance of the owners was incredible: As usual, our family decided to have dinner at the Sonnenhof in August. We booked our table a few days in advance and arrived promptly at 7:30pm. To our great surprise, the restaurant terrace was packed full with many extra tables improvised left and right. It took the waitress 20 minutes to come to our table. While the first course arrived within 40 minutes, the main course was taking forever. When we eventually complained at 9:30pm, the spouse of the owner gave us an arrogant answer that they were full and had over 100 servings etc. We were somewhat surprised by the tone, when a simple short apology would have been sufficient, but that was too much too ask. Later, when we paid our bill, we tried to explain again that the service was slow, we were told that “our guests accept this”. Some 30 minutes later, around 22:30, the restaurant owner called us. Hoping that finally he found some common sense, he continued his wife‘s arrogant attitude and again was not able to apologise for the quality of the service, epitomizing the arrogance of this establishment. This is the last time we will be visiting this restaurant after some 30 years. Some people wonder if the Saanenland has lost its soul, well it looks like the Sonnenhof has . Their success made them lose sight of the importance of being kind to clients. I don 't think they will change their attitude as long as their restaurant will be full. That 's a pity."
