Whether for a romantic dinner, a quick lunch or a big family meal, this simple, unpretentious restaurant is up to the task! The food is always very fresh. The gnocchi's and pasta's with truffle are super yummy!!! Great fish dishes.

Haben 2 mal nacheinander hier gegessen und waren begeistert. Pizzen waren perfekt, Pasta ebenfalls. Die Weinempfehlung top, der Primitivo super! Preis-Leistung absolut fair! Gastfreundschaft wie hier, habe ich schon lange nicht mehr genossen.

Der Service und die Küche waren sehr gut. Vor allem waren für mich als Gast die sehr professionellen Dienstleitungen vom Service überzeugend. For us, with the UK/CHF exchange as it is, Switzerland is an expensive holiday destination ... But at La Grotta we found the pizza and pasta are reasonably priced even by Uk standards and absolutely incredibly good - some of the best Italian food we have eaten. Unfortunately the wine was beyond our budget (not because it was overpriced, but just because of the exchange rate) but with the food so good, we didn't mind too much. We also loved the busy, homely atmosphere. We were staying in Kriens and La Grotta was just 10 mins walk away, so very handy. Will definitely visit again, if in the area.

On our way to Italy we had planned an overnight stay in Kriens/Luzern. Since we arrived fairly on time we decided to find a nice restaurant in the area. We could not have made a better choice. We had lovely antipasti: very tasteful fish carpaccio and a delicious burrata with pancetta and porcini. We chose pasta as main dishes: an always good spaghetti vongole and an outstanding linguine porcini, freshly available in autumn. All of this accompanied by good italian wines. The wine list is tremendous, just trust the professional and affordable advice of the friendly staff. We had a red wine from Calabria which we would never have chosen ourselves, but it was so nice with the porcini.

Small inconspicuous restaurant, with the many Italian restaurants it's difficult to choose... almost everything was reserved here, so it can't be bad here and we chose this one. We were positively surprised here, super friendly service, which was a bit on the limit on our evening. The large selection and the quality of the food (lots of homemade) made up for the somewhat long waiting time. The outdoor area next to the street doesn't exude a special ambience, but today it was too nice to sit inside. We'll definitely be back when we're nearby.
