"Upon our arrival, Dad was greeted like an old friend, and we were promptly shown to our table. I noticed a few families speaking Indian dialects, which I took as a great sign that we were in for some authentic cuisine. I was not disappointed! For our starter, we ordered the chicken poppadoms, which were a fantastic light and tasty entrée, featuring a lovely crunch from the poppadom topped with a generous amount of chutney, coriander, and spices that complemented each other beautifully. For our main courses, Dad went for his favorite lamb rogan josh with steamed rice, while I chose the chef's special, chicken tikka pulao rice, accompanied by a few chapatis. Judging by the silence at our table as we enjoyed our meals and the subsequent clean plates, both dishes were a hit! The lamb was cooked to perfection, and mine was a dish I had never tried before but will definitely recommend. Can I recommend this place? Absolutely! If you're in the Northeast, especially near Newcastle upon Tyne and craving Indian cuisine, look no further. While the prices might be slightly higher than at other restaurants, the exceptional service, outstanding food, and overall wonderful experience are well worth it."

"I am never disappointed by my visits. But yesterday’s lunch broke all records for deliciousness. It must be years since we last had minestrone soup but what a tasty warming choice for the first day of November. And then … great big generous king prawns in cream with a touch of chilli and a life enhancing splash of ouzo. A taste sensation! And absolute bliss."

"Popped in for lunch (we hadn't booked, but luckily, we got a table as someone was just leaving), so booking may be advisable... the menu is Greek, Eastern Mediterranean, Turkish, Moroccan ... loads of interesting sharing plates, all sounding delicious! They offer 4 for £22, 5 for £26... which was plenty for 3 of us at lunchtime. Can reccomended the lemon chicken skewers, lamb kofta, feta and spinach samosas, stuffed vine leaves and tzatziki/pitta.... all excellent flavours! Will definitely be going again soon! Vegetarian options: Excellent selection of vegan and veggie options. Parking: Not easy to find parking unless you go into the mall car park across the road... its on a busy corner on Whitley Bay, but definitely still worth a persevering. "We hadn't visited this restaurant in a couple of years and had good memories of it being a special place (we had brought guests here as it was at the top of our list of local restaurants), but our recent experience this week was disappointing. The staff member who greeted us at the door seemed disinterested in being at work, showing no signs of friendliness or engaging in any conversation throughout the evening, including when we paid the bill. First impressions are important. Unfortunately, the food was also lacking. Although the menu descriptions were intriguing with a variety of options, none of our appetizers or main dishes stood out - where were the promised flavors? Bruschetta without garlic or basil? Overall, the food was just "okay" but not worth the price. It seemed like cheap ingredients were used and corners were cut to save money. The restaurant still has a nice ambiance and I'm sure it's lively on weekends, but this historic place deserves better. We will be exploring other dining options in the future. It's a shame, as this restaurant has the potential to be truly special."

"Lockdown takeaway treat!I’ve only ever visited for a sit-down two or three times, but I thought I’d take advantage of the Covid lockdown to get a takeaway. It was amazing. So many Asian flavours. The Bibimbap with kimchi was great and my better half had an amazing beef rendang which just melted in the mouth. The cauliflower fritters with curry mayo are perfectNever fails to deliver the taste sensations"
