"Loved Red Sails Restaurant we were staying in this hotel for the night during our visit to Faversham and decided to have dinner in the hotel. The food was really good my starter of lobster linguini was delicious, my main course fish was cooked to perfection only criticism being very salty samphire (although I appreciate that by its very nature it is salty). My other half loved his lamb. Dessert was fondant with ice cream which was nice if not exceptional. Service was excellent, lovely bread and nibbles accompanied our meal."

The food was delicious and creative. Homemade bread was lovely. Service was incredibly attentive. One of the best meals we've had for a long time! A great find!

The food was good and the meat cooked to my taste. Vegetables, to my taste and eye, had been around for a while. A bit wrinkled and dry but edible. Not the best food served in the area. Voir le carte

Apart from the walnut bread, all of our dishes were just not quite right. Either seasoning off, meat tough, creme brûlée was completely runny, strawberry dish only had about three whole strawberries in it. Very disappointed as had heard good reports. Voir le carte

very good food, excellent service at a reasonable price made an evening with friends unforgettable and pleasant. good selection of wein plus the additional bonus for this type of event location, very good beer of gadds brewerey to rival any local pub.

we went on Sunday afternoon and the roast beef was excellent with well cooked vegetables and a rich gravy. unusual for here I did not feel that our waitress was very well informed about the menu and was not very attentive, which led to one of the meal times and was not served as desired and then a delay while this was sorted

"Having been to the Phoenix several times and I believe, this to be my second average review of the food and service, you 'd think they would have taken heed, but clearly not. Firstly, like most top end restaurants in London, they are reserving the right to charge for no shows £20 per head). But, what they are also doing, which is very unfair, is charging you for cancellations within 24 hours of the booking at £10 per head. If one or more of our friends had fallen ill over night it 's the flu season at the moment), they would have been were forced to go for an expensive average Sunday lunch, whilst spreading their germs to the other diners. It also poses the question, what would some do if you book a table less than 24 hours like we did) and then decide to cancel? The excuse that orders for food have already been placed doesn 't really hold water. The Sunday menu forces you to order a minimum of 2 courses at £34 per head. Some of the top London restaurants are charging less for far more opulent Sunday roasts e.g. the Jugged Hare at the Barbican). The Sunday lunch served was simply very average and not value for money. Finally, why are the desserts here, always consistently so bad? I ordered a baked cheesecake and got cream squirted on a piece of cake. When I asked what I had been served, I was told it was chef 's interpretation of a cheesecake. The menu clearly stated baked cheesecake. Not even in my wildest dreams can you interpret a baked cheesecake as a piece of cake with creamed squirted on it! This was promptly returned and replaced with a vile chocolate tart, with pastry so hard I couldn 't cut into it without the fear of smashing the plate it was served on. The chocolate was over salted and the chantilly cream served with it unsweetened. Save your money, go elsewhere."
