Red House Farm Bar Restaurant

The staff were friendly but beware if you go on a Sunday. You get handed a meaningless menu because they only do the Sunday roast. Oh there IS a veggie option.. that is the Sunday roast with no meat (not even some kind of alternative like nut roast.. or the classic veg lasagne... as chef can't be arsed on a Sunday.

Plus points were the pleasant long haired barman and tasty Neck Oil. The other staff were typically young and disinterested. However £12 for two drinks is expensive. The big minus were the appalling stalls in the men’s toilets. There is no excuse in the 21st century for this. One seat was completely detached, another partially so and they did not appear to have been cleaned recently.

Spontaneous decision to go out for tea tonight, decided to pop in after hearing good things. It was quiet but there was still a nice atmosphere. Food and drinks were spot on. Ellie was lovely, chatted to us and was great with my 8 year old. Big shout out to Max for his unexpected company and cat cuddles- he was a very welcome guest at our table and made our visit. The bar was being run by only one person, who was responsible for delivering drinks and food. The staffing was clearly insufficient. Despite their hard work, it was evident that the owner was unable to effectively manage the bar, as well as another establishment called the Kittiwake. Unfortunately, it seems that the bar would benefit from being taken over by a more competent management team from one of the pubs in Newcastle city.

I thought it was about time I visited the Red House Farm pub as it has been renovated and redecorated throughout since my last visit. I ordered the turkey gammon for a change and was certainly not disappointed. Both meats were perfectly cooked, and served with a generous portion of vegetables. I followed this with fruit crumble and custard with a coffee, all served by the ever attentive staff. Absolutely first class, and excellent value... Highly recommended.

Have eaten here twice since the recent refurbishment and enjoyed the food both times. Decor is lovely and we’ve been able to sit in one of the new orange booths on both occasions really cosy. We’ve tried a mixture of things lots of the tapas dishes, pizzas (pulled pork and pepperoni) and the children’s pizza and fish chips. All of the food was lovely and so are the homemade sauces which you can add on. Children’s menu is great value for money with good portion sizes and the children’s dessert options waffle or brownie are both amazing. We’ve not had dessert off the main menu but definitely think these should come in bigger portions. Staff are really friendly. Will definitely visit again. Voir le carte

My husband, his parents, and I dined at this restaurant during restaurant week and were very disappointed with the food. We started with nachos, but they were just tortilla chips with cheap cheese sauce, jalapeños, and a small amount of guacamole and salsa. Both my mother-in-law and I ordered the chicken pie, which was overly salty and came with lumpy mashed potatoes and watery gravy. It seemed like the pie had been reheated instead of freshly made, as it was dense and lacked filling. My father-in-law had the beef tagine, while my husband opted for the chicken gyros. Gluten free heaven. Found this pub on Facebook menu looked amazing. So called in on Saturday. Really nice pub recently refurbished to a high standard. Excellent greeting by bar staff. Found our table then ordered at bar after examining the menu... Wife was was very happy as there is quite a good choice for celiac's. She opted for halloumi burger with fries. And gluten free beer daura.. I'm not celiac so had pizza loaded chips and flatbread garlic with cheese. The wait honestly was 5 to 6 minutes very impressive all piping hot. Well presented. Only thing a can say is roll on next week going back.. Gorgeous food tasted lovely no complaints was served most of the night by ...DARCY.. very polite...

I went to the restaurant for Sunday lunch. The food was mediocre, with poorly made mash and watery gravy. Despite pre-ordering our meals, they were served in a haphazard manner, resulting in the first person's food being cold by the time the last meal came out. The same issue occurred with the desserts, with a significant time gap between the first and last dessert being served. When it came time to pay, we were informed that the drinks had already been paid for, leading us to assume someone else in our party had taken care of it.
