"This is a 4.6 star review. Well worth a try! My review is based on the last 3 orders. All of the orders I have placed with Rama spice have been for takeaway as I have not been in the restaurant. Rama spice is a Restaurant that I believe started to do takeaway during lockdown. I have ordered 3 or 4 times and as I usually do if the first time is positive I like to get a feel of consistency before leaving a review. The prices are restaurant prices which are slightly more expensive than some of the local takeaways (NHS discount is available on collections The last order I placed was for some vegan pescitarian dishes. I have to mention that not only does the menu have vegan rated listing on but the gentleman who answered the phone seemed very informed about food being vegan. After requesting the first vegan dish he made A Point of saying just let me know every dish that you want vegan. As the dishes Are marked Vegan I am guessing that these guys are taking every precaution not to make mistakes or cross contaminated. Very positive. I have ordered a number of dishes but the chana masala (chickpeas has been a Constant on all my orders. It is marked as a hot dish but as the heat from this dish is dirived from fresh chillies some natural variation in heat occurs and the previous time to this order was a little milder than the hot I wanted (honest I'm not trying to be a Hard chilli eater so I requested the dish to be extra hot and it seemed to do the trick. The dish was tasty, spicy, satisfying and the fresh spices definitely came through. The undertone of fresh ground cardimon was presant which really lifted the dish and give it an authentic feel. Absolutely spot on and a Must try. The starter I had was samosa chaat. A selection of chopped up somosas in corriandor, onion and masala. This was a wonderful dish. The samosa was perfect, not soggy or to hard or too crispy and the vegatable filling was identifiable with a nice subtle spice. Everything worked well together. We also ordered chapati which was thin and soft and still retained some moisture unlike many modern takes of a thicker, dry version. We had also ordered a tarka dhal which was flavourful Medium to watery consistency that is probably better as a side. (I often make or request a thick version when I want a main dish but I have not yet requested that from rama spice We also had chips, which I am guessing are frozen fries. I wasent greatly impressed by them. They were a Little dried in the middle that often the case with frozen versions but it didn't spoil the meal. My girlfriend tried a chilli garlic king prawn starter. The prawns come in some kind of soft batter coating finished in a sticky hot chilli and garlic sauce. She said the flavour profile was nice and a good amount of heat came through but she wasent too keen on the batter so removed some of it revealing a beautifully hooked king prawn. As I asked for extra hot curry the person who took my order advised that he would send me some fresh made chilli sauce to try that was hot. It was a. Delight if you like hot sauce. Very thick and still had a good chilli taste despite the heat. They also provided a yoghurt mint sauce that I did not try so can not provide feed back. They sent a salad too which is something I love with a curry. (I phoned back after this order to pay compliments to the chef sir the chana masala Thats the food and a definite recommendation from me. The gentleman answering the phone was a good communicator, had a. Knowledge of the menu etc, also understood the requirements of veganism, was polite and read back the Order along with an expected delivery time. The delivery driver was on time, polite and friendly. I will leave a further review of the restaurant in tbe coming weeks/months as soon as I have had the chance to give it a try. Overall great food and service."

Excellent food. Very busy, but still good service. Find environment quite noisy, so would possibly try to go when it would be less busy.

Excellent Staff and food here are first class. After several visits I have been happy with the whole range of food here. An espresso machine is the only thing that could make it better IMHO.

Ordered a takeaway was very expensive for what you got. The massala chips where tiny French fries in some kind of weird tasting sauce. The curry I got was nice bit the lamb pieces where tiny. For 11.99 for a takeaway curry was very expensive the keema rice was nice, the pashwari naan didn't really taste of anything.

Really good food! Recommended by my family in the area, I really enjoyed the food here. Been to a few places locally in Bolton and this is my new fav! Dishes all have distinctive flavours and the service is also good. It's not the cheapest place to eat in Bolton and unfortunately some of the portion sizes could be better (especially the starters). Size and price aside, the food is really nice and well worth a visit!

the first time you ordered from rama spice tonight has taken off. within 20 minutes rubbed and was absolutely beautiful, very fresh and very tasteful, we have so many Indian ripples in the run of the years tried and that is the best yet. both I and my wife really enjoyed it and will never go anywhere else from here. it can be a little more expensive than its native, but for the quality, taste and freshness of eating it is so worth it. many thanks for taking our order and they will definitely have our use again

As a vegetarian the food is so good here. Me and my husband went for food and I ordered a samosa chaat, when I came it had meat samosas instead of veg. I always check my food for this reason. But this mistake should not have been made. I felt like it was dismissed by the staff and said it got mixed up in the kitchen and didn’t really apologise. But as a pure vegetarian I don’t think that was acceptable. In the end we got charged for it as they made me a fresh one but as a kind gesture from them for their mistake I don’t feel like we should have been. Overall I was disappointed as I don’t think it was handled correctly. Staff are very polite other than not owning up to the mistake and apologi...

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
