"Having enjoyed pre-theatre lunches here over many years, we had no hesitation in booking again this year. A mistake! Road closures due to the cycling event meant that we arrived a few minutes late. I had emailed en route and also telephoned leaving a message that we were slightly delayed. The food was good, the service hugely disappointing. Haggis bon-bons, fish and chips and the smoked salmon bagel were all delicious. The service was far too slow, and hugely disappointing apart from the young person who brought our drinks order and corrected a mistake immediately. Other staff appeared totally uninterested and certainly were not keeping a watchful eye on our table. We had no time for dessert and when ordering coffee I explained that we were anxious to be on time for the performance. A patronising response from the waitress was not appreciated. Slow service yet again. No time to drink my coffee. My husband then had difficulty gaining staff attention to pay the bill. He decided to reduce the included service charge by fifty percent. I would have removed it completely. We won’t return."

We dropped in The fisherman 's bar just after lunch time and had an excellent cup of coffee, cappuccino and delicious cake. The view on both the bridge and the dam is beatifull. Great to enjoy the good weather and coffee.

"The food is expensive and the staff are unfriendly. The prices are way too high. This restaurant was once excellent in Pitlochry, but has deteriorated rapidly and is now extremely costly. The bartender was unhelpful and almost rude."

Wonderful night spent having my dinner by the river. Whilst the view is stunning , the food and the service and just as good if not better. Super friendly staff happy to help with whatever. The pate is amazing! Can’t wait to come back again

The location is spectacular. Beautiful. However, the menu was a major disappointment with very little choice, including burger, fish and chips etc. The kitchen service was friendly and quick bit the poor barman was over worked. Too expensive and a bit pretentious. Voir le carte

What a great place for lunch. It sits on the side of the river, not far from the Pitlochry Dam. There were some picnic tables near the water, but it was still too chilly to be eating outside. We were in a lovely room with a glass ceiling. Lunch was fantastic. I had fish and chips. Classic, but so tasty and HUGE! I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert and it was delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

The menu was very limited, especially if you don't like fish. Since there was nothing I could eat, I ended up ordering a sandwich and chips which cost £14.95, the same price as a soup and sandwich. I also had the sticky toffee pudding, which tasted more like a chocolate sponge and cost £8.75. On top of all that, there was an additional service charge of £2.37. Overall, it was a total rip off and we definitely will not be returning.

Visited for drinks after visiting the Dam, which due to the recent wet weather the dam was open and was spectacular to see, the water gushing over. The River Tay was very high and flowing very fast past us as we sat outside in the sunshine, two luvly young ladies serving you after ordering, Very busy as popular with families play area opp in front of theatre dog friendly and visitors to the area. Njoyed our wine and the views. Worth a visit : Voir le carte

We had a fantastic lunch at Port na Craig Inn last week and enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day for drinks and starters to try more of their delicious food. The menu was small but had plenty of options to satisfy everyone, including my picky fiancé. The restaurant is in a great location, tastefully decorated, and the food is delicious. The staff is also very friendly. Our only regret is that we didn't discover this gem earlier in our holiday, as it definitely stands out from the other places we visited in town. We will definitely be returning soon!

This is a delightful place to stay, the Inn sits just below Pitlochry Festival Theatre and is right on the banks of the River Tummel. The room we had was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and all the facilities. No air conditioning or extra bedding that I saw. We stayed two nights and the room was reset for us after the first night which was a nice surprise. I would say it’s up a steep flight of stairs so maybe an issue if you have mobility problems Breakfast both days was included and was very tasty with a nice selection of breads and toast. Dinner was not cheapest, we paid £160 for two courses, a bottle of wine, two coffees and a whiskey but we did both have steaks which wher...

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."
