"We called in to Pop in café early on Saturday morning expecting to find it relatively quite, thus allowing us to get in, get breakfast and get off, unfortunately the café was heaving and the only available tables were outside. One would think this was an inconvenience but the weather was delightful and the atmosphere given by the market stall owners setting up only added to the experience. There had to be a reason for a full café at 7:30 on a Saturday morning and upon receiving our food that question was answered. Sausages Lincolnshire perfectly cooked and quality, bacon quality, eggs spot on, mushrooms fresh, black pudding cooked perfectly and along with the usual sundries made for a cracking way to start the day. A superb café that merits a five star review"

This has to be the best breakfast deal in Lincolnshire the lunchtime menu looks great too. Been having breakfast here once a week for about 12 years.

Friendly staff and locals and we liked it so much we had brunch (All Day Breakfasts 7 pieces for two plus drinks for less than £10) on the way to and from our holiday location on the coast.

Busy on market day as its on the square. Food is ok and pretty cheap. Has the advantage of being the only café that opens at 7:30 (other than the recently opened Costa which isn't doing very well).

Out standing food all cooked to order not from a hot cabinet as I have said good honest food Staff give all those people that go into the pop inn a warm welcome and the banner they have with some of the market people is like being at a good sitcom show

We sat outside in the market place in glorious sunshine . Ordered salads and ate healthily . Place was incredibly busy and they needed an extra staff member 2 could just not cope but they were friendly and amusing and we were not in a hurry . Tea and coffee were good too. Would go again when in town.

8am before work breakfast. The breakfast menu is pay per item with your choice and it’s very reasonable. I paid £5.50 for a proper coffee plus 7 items. Lincolnshire sausage, bacon, hash browns, fried egg, baked beans, toast, mushrooms. All cooked fresh. They aren’t premier ingredients but they are all good and tasty. No complaints from me at all. Pleasant friendly staff and a clean cafe. I’ll definitely do this again when in Horncastle at this time of day.

This small, very affordable and friendly cafe is pretty much 'open all hours '. Their friendly welcome and helpfullness is outstanding, as are their breakfasts and hot drinks. Something that must be worth a mention is that during the Remembrance Day Poppy Appeal during November, this little community minded cafe provided a continuous supply of free tea and coffee to the Poppy Sellars standing on a cold corner of the market place selling poppies. A favourite with everyone, you can eat in or out. Highly recommended.

"I've been in Horncastle on business twice once on a Monday, once on a Tuesday and both times found the town mostly closed for business in the evenings. This time, just as I was on the point of deciding people in Lincolnshire must have a tradition of fasting on a Tuesday evening, I came across The Bull. This attractive old coaching hotel looked inviting, and the staff offered me a friendly welcome. The warmly lit, high ceilinged interior of this Georgian inn was full of diners (Yes on a Tuesday! Take note, other restauranteurs of Horncastle) and the ambiance was convivial. The selection of beers behind the bar was good and the two pints I drank were tasty and well kept. I was presented with two bar menus, a separate burger menu and shown a fish menu and a steak menu on the wall. (I understand tapas is also available at weekends). Quite a choice! The bar menus largely consisted of what you might call traditional pub grub of the best kind. Within that massive choice, there must have been at least half a dozen dishes I was really tempted by but, eventually, I plumped for the cauliflower soup followed by the pork belly, mash, peas and apple gravy. Both courses were outstanding and extremely generous in size, especially the pork belly. My only disappointment was that I hadn't room in my distended belly to squeeze in a spotted dick for pudding! My bill, for such a large and excellent meal, was very modest. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at The Bull and would definitely eat and/or drink there again."
