"We decided to enjoy a leisurely late lunch and came across this place online. The staff graciously gave us a table by the window, making for an enjoyable experience. They offer three small plates per person from three different menus priced at £10.50, £12.50, and £13.50. We opted for the £12.50 menu, which featured a variety of Italian-themed dishes. When the food arrived, it was piping hot and expertly prepared. The flavors and overall quality were impressive, especially the calamari, which was lightly coated in tempura batter and served with a garlic mayo dip. There was so much food that I initially declined dessert. However, upon closer inspection of the dessert menu, I discovered a delightful trio of small desserts on one plate, paired perfectly with a rich cappuccino. Our total bill, which included two desserts, a large glass of white wine, and two pints of Peroni, came to around £60 including the tip. There was plenty of parking available in the rear lot, and the restaurant itself was clean, tidy, and well-maintained. The staff was attentive, even though it was mid-afternoon and had quieted down significantly since lunch. Overall, it was a lovely experience."

We had a wonderful dining experience! If you're a fan of tapas, you absolutely must try the pesto. Our server, Katie, was excellent throughout the evening.

The food was amazing last night. Every dish we had was delicious, tasty and the service fantastic. It's such good value too. We definitely can't wait to come back!

We were 8 in total family from the USA friends and all enjoyed the excellent tapas with efficient and friendly servers who catered for some off menu requests including our requests for tailor made cocktails.

Waited so long for first drinks order to be taken. Food we ordered was absolutely awful, gristle beef, rubber prawns, burnt sundried tomatoes, as well as chillies and potatoes, service was slow, in hindsight shouldn't have paid for the awful food, will never go back. Voir le carte

Thank you for another wonderful evening. Enjoyed a Sunday night treat, and wasn’t disappointed. Great friendly service and delicious food. Amongst our favourites was the prawns with chilli, lovely and spicy and the penne chicken pasta. We even managed a dessert! Looking forward to our next visit.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant, particularly thanks to Ang, who greeted us warmly as a family of five. All the staff were attentive, and the food was excellent. Our waitress, Ellie, was particularly great; she explained the menu thoroughly and was extremely pleasant. We will definitely be back soon!

A truly aweful experience. The management demonstrated a lack of interest to our enquiries to book a family celebration for 20 people for December. They were not interested and displayed a lack of interest, just to negate our enquiries. Customer Services were not interested. Our reasonable expectations were completely quashed. An aweful experience. Voir le carte

Possibly our fifth visit to this restaurant the service, seating and background music very good as before. The food not up to previous standards, the fish cakes were greasy and soaked with oil, the calabrese sausage in red wine didn’t taste fresh and wasn’t spicy at all, the chicken skewers overcooked and very dry and finally the lasagna which was the highlight of our last visit was just ok. Having found a restaurant that suited us both we are now having second thoughts.

We have dined here several times, so we chose it for my birthday lunch. Unfortunately, the service was subpar. The waitress, who had a strong accent, seemed incapable of offering a smile and was quite brusque, even snatching the menus from our hands! The food was disappointing compared to our previous visits, with portions that were significantly smaller than those at other Pesto locations. The oregano potatoes were particularly unappetizing; they resembled the leftovers you would normally discard from the bottom of a fryer! The Arancini tasted like soap. Overall, the food was awful, and the service was shocking!

"ok… I have deliberated whether to write this as don’t like to be negative but I think this place can take it so here goes… My husband booked a meal as a Christmas pressie this as I have always wanted to go to a michelin star restaurant and this is quite local to us. We arrived at The Barn which is quite basic in appearance as the downstairs looks like several saunas due to the amount of wood on show. Upstairs was nice and attractive. The staff are efficient but the whole set up is bit ‘cold’ and unfriendly. The staff were not particularly engaged; maybe this is how they were trained to be? The food consisted of amuse bouche which tbh didn’t really taste of much and this was a theme for the whole menu unfortunately. The homemade bread was delicious but the other offerings were tasteless and needed seasoning. -trout mousse in a lemon broth, including pips, was tasteless and the mussel mousse on pikelet didn’t taste of mussels. anyhow on to the main event-we ordered partridge -chewy and tasteless, the cured sea bream not seasoned sufficiently. The meals looked delicious-style over taste? Then the mains-my deer was tender and delicious but the sauces didn’t taste of much-I had to check the menu to see what they were meant to be. My husband ordered the steak-now at £62 this should have been SOME steak- what a shame it wasn’t -it was just a sirloin, bit chewy, not that great. Deffo not worth £62 of taste! It wasn’t caramelised on the outside and abit sinewy. The bone marrow bearnaise sauce was tasty though. Now I like cooking, I like food , I cook fresh meals every night but I’m not a chef. My first experience of food at this level… I will stick to local restaurants WITHOUT michelin stars at a fraction of the price -tbh I prefer my own home cooked meals! Is this a case of the emperors new clothes? Do people just think it’s good because they are told by someone else it’s fantastic? I’m disappointed in the experience at The Barn. Bit of a wash out and I will be asking for a meal at Bistro Verite in Birkdale next Christmas probs at a fraction of the price!"
