Visiting a relative in hospital and decided to have lunch nearby. Used to live in the area, and the Penny Farthing has always been decent when visited but this is the New Penny Farthing. I had a Sirloin which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the fillet which was cooked perfectly and melted in the mouth. The starter however, was really nice, but tiny, however, the main made up for it

The menu has a wide selection to keep everyone happy. All meals were good, particularly the pasta, but the chicken skewer was a little small for the price. Desserts were generous in size and good. Service was relatively fast on a busy evening but friendliness of staff was a little mixed with one server almost throwing our desserts onto the table. Shame as this wasn't the case for all staff but that's what you remember when you drive home!

Went for Xmas lunch with friends, very disappointed with the lunch, cost £29.95, and for that I had pate, which was literally half a pack of pate which you’d buy in the supermarket the bread was nice) when lunch arrived it was a mound of mash potato with a soggy Yorkshire stuck on the top. So we went to celebrate a birthday for Sunday lunch, two Sunday’s ago.Arrived parked in car park. Went inside and I was surprised on the decor, very old fashioned, didn’t look as if much money had been spent on the place. The restaurant was a very big open plan room, reminded me a bit of an old fashioned ballroom in a hotel! Very very cold. Young girls serving with no clue what they needed to bring to the table, had to ask for mint sauce, apple sauce etc. A drink was ordered and asked without ice but was brought with ice.
