"Family been going to the penguin fish chips for years. Something awful has happened after new owners took over. The fish is sold as Cod but I can safely say it is not! Probably Pollock or worse. Fish was grey and not white as Cod should be. Tasted awful the batter had a burned overused oil taste. So disappointing after years of good quality cooking and the use of fresh cod… cutting corners like this has cost them our service many more after reading latest reviews on their website"

Food delivered freezing cold. They forgot to deliver a wrap that was ordered and kids drink. When I phoned them nobody answered the phone. Used to be good but has become really bad.

Good fish and chips, although service was very slow due to the size of the shop and covid restrictions. Can't fault the fix, though £14 for 2 x Cod and Chips is perhaps a little on the pricey side.

Sausage was great but chips were a massive let down. Despite ordering only 20 mins after opening they were luke warm, all soft and stuck together making it very difficult to eat. Also despite asking for salt and Vinegar that was also lacking. Bland! Won't be returning.

Gone down hill. Chips are stodgy, and a lot are black from bruised potatoes being used. Order has been wrong past couple of times also. Has happened twice now, wont be risking it for a 3rd time. Young staff obviously dont want to be there, in turn running the place into the ground slowly. Used to be great food, shame.

I've ordered online for delivery and I received my order very quick, in 15 minutes instead of 45 minutes stated on my order. The portion was huge, even though I ordered regular chips I had plenty of them to be able to eat by myself, fish was fresh and very well cooked. The food tasted great and I would definitely recommend!

Thought I'd try these as it's been few years since. Wish I hadn't bothered. Batter was chewy on the fish no idea how they managed that. My daughter had cheesy chips, which she couldn't finish and chicken popcorn seems to be missing the vital ingredient chicken!! My second daughter had veggie burger, she rated it 1.5 out of 5. Won't be returning ANY time soon, if ever.

I have lived in tiwvy for 10 years and always saw that this fish chip shop is popular takeaway. So we thought we would let it go and it was the best fish and chips we have in so long time. the cod was beautiful and fleshy and the chips were delicious and nothing was too fat. the staff was very friendly. will definitely go back, highly recommend they will not be disappointed

Terrible service.... ordered via app at 6.45pm, and had to call twice to chase food as still waiting over 2 hours for delivery. First time told at 8pm we were the next delivery , 8.42pm now and still no food. Called to chase and got told they are very busy, and would have it by 9pm as they close!!!! Terrible Terrible service, no offer of refund or anything to make us feel valued customers. Order with caution, and ridiculous service
