"For months, the new opening has announced the Taj Mahal, the building, a former store, was completely refurbished inside and this has been delayed several times. I drove someone to Vilshofen today for an appointment and used the waiting time to see if it's finally open now and if so, to comply with my duty as a tester. The Taj Mahal is located directly on a through road in Vilshofen, close to a busy intersection. Outdoor gastronomy prohibits itself, which is a shame because the restaurant is not too big. Access is level, only the toilets and the back area of the guest room are a few steps high. There are no private parking spaces, but there are public parking facilities in the area. Tip: follow the signs of P5 (behind the inn to the Golden M and take the footpath down (by Liridoni). SERVICE: I was very kindly greeted with handshake when entering (I was probably also one of the first guests in the restaurant at all, because it really only has quite fish open and could choose a table. I got 3 hauchthin doughloads (because later under food and the menu. Enough time to choose food and drinks. Otherwise I felt very comfortable throughout in a very nice and friendly atmosphere. Almost the 5 stars were waved, but they fell to 4.5 stars by two real little things: On the one hand, a white beer is served in a corresponding glass and not in a normal radiator/neck beer glass and on the other hand there was no computer print as an invoice, but only one hand note. These things really do not break down the positive experience, but they are supposed to show that I don't easily share the stars with the casting box. ESSEN: The offer is purely Indian, in principle there are no embarrassment courts for people who do not like it. Children who, for example, insist on pommes will not be happy here. But that is also good, embarrassment courts are not the original. As with most Indians, the offer is huge, but by a certain modular system it is also possible to see in a kitchen of this size. The food is served on a Tandoori grill or Furnace prepared in a semi-open kitchen behind a counter. According to the owner, an authentic cook from India was collected. The menu is a pimped standard folder with transparent sleeves and correspondingly printed sheets, and there is also a very well made flyer, probably also with regard to the Take Away store. Whether it's going to last, I can't say, but on the tables were small dip bowls, to which, when a guest comes, the thin dough flakes are served (which are actually not an appetizer according to the map in the original, but are an aid for eating the sauces. As usual, there are discounted lunch offers under the week. Today was Saturday, but the regular card had to hold. I ordered Beef Vindaloo (small beef with special spices from Goa, sharp at 12.50. After a relatively short time, I first got the rice to the table (in a copper dish, unfortunately not kept warm and shortly afterwards a typical ram with the meat or sauce. The meat was really delicate and of good quality, the sauce was also nicely sharp, but without brutally covering everything. For me as a real chill head I felt it as pleasantly sharp. And the heat from meat and sauce kept the rice indirectly warm. I was really thrilled, especially since the exterior of the restaurant (picture from outside didn't go today, it's too close to a busy road to close a snack rather than a high-quality restaurant. This is also located on the menu for Neanderthals on the windows (large-area pictures of food . 4.5 stars are definitely attached. AMBIENTE: The restaurant was lucky to be completely replanted and did not have to be built on the ruins of a preexistence. There are also no old loads. It is in a pleasantly objective Indian style with targeted Indian style elements (of course the large photo wallpaper from Taj Mahal must not be missing. The room consists of two parts, the lower room with about 25 seats directly at the entrance and past the counter and a few steps high an upper room with some 20 seats and partly vault. Below it is quite bright (with daylight at the top slightly darker, but still cozy. The soundtrack of various Bollywood films on Youtube serves as music. But from the volume so discreet that it doesn't bother. Tables and chairs could also stand in other places, tablecloths didn't exist, which doesn't bother me personally. 4.5 star SAUBERKEIT: Hard to evaluate, everything is new and unused and therefore clean. The toilet is also privately used by the operators who live above the restaurant, because it is more a bathroom (with comfort shower and sauna! than a gastronomy toilet. And this only toilet has to hold for the restaurant. Whether this works in the long run must be shown. But here is only my impression that I had during my visit and there was everything right and there is nothing to complain. 4.5 stars. Price performance: The food was definitely worth his money, as it behaves at lunchtime, can't say I'll test it again on occasion. Main dishes cost between 10 and 16 euros, lunch offers (with appetizer between 5.50 and 8 euros). 4.5 Stars FAZIT: I can definitely recommend this Indian and I will certainly not have been the last time and come again."
