"we have the "all they can eat" for traditional Chinese dishes (which so few Chinese restaurants actually offer) and we were not disappointed. it was absolutely delicious. we had carved with garlic, chili and spring onions and bark in chili oil (like a Szechuan pepperstock) and pak choi. it was just perfect! perfectly seasoned, full of taste. the bark stock had the slight citrus-y-touch from the pfeffer grains. very happy and I will come back soon to get more of the traditional dishes! 4*, as a mandatory 10% service fee is added. we were happy with the service we received, but I don't think this should be obligatory."

The dim sum was excellent, and the green beans with spicy pork were fantastic, along with the soft shell crab. The kids also ventured to try some new dishes. The service was outstanding!

Absolutely delightful dining experience! We opted for the all-you-can-eat menu, but we'll definitely be back soon to try the dim sum. The staff was kind and friendly, assisting us in choosing our dishes.

The Oriental Garden Chinese Restaurant in Northampton is well worth a visit, it has a relaxed environment and every dish was well cooked and tasty. I did take off 1 star, as some of us didn't eat meat when we asked what the dishes were as they were brought to us, the waitress just shrugged and said don't know!

I absolutely love this place. I usually only visit a restaurant a couple of times, but we come here about once a month, and often more, for the past five years. Our favorites include the crispy noodles with char siu, the soft shell crab basket, and the tofu. The Dim Sum menu is also fantastic. The restaurant is always packed, but they always manage to accommodate us.

Awesome experience! Staff is patient and very friendly. So it was my first time in a chinese restaurant and I had no clue what to order, but the staff helped us through the menu and each dish we ordered (squid, shrimp, prawns, beef, chicken, duck) was amazingly delicious! Definitely going back there. Lovely ambience and nice washrooms. Strongly suggested for first timers for Chinese cuisine.

The dining experience was exceptional, with a great selection of gluten-free options available. My daughter and I started with the chicken and corn soup, followed by both regular and gluten-free varieties of three roasted and boiled rice. The portions were generous and incredibly flavorful. The staff was knowledgeable about dietary needs and very helpful and courteous. They even took the time to recommend menu items for our next visit. This restaurant is definitely a must for a return trip!

We had the buffet and the food was fabulous and service was good, the waiters/waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Iv took a star off as I don't understand how they can justify charging a 4 5 year old £12 each when they had a few mouthfuls of food. When I queried this before we ordered I wasn't given a clear answer or a different option that would of been better for the kids and was told its just what they charge. Other than that the food was great and we will be visiting again, just not with the kids!

The service was impeccable, and the food was outstanding—great quality with amazing flavors. We opted for the à la carte menu, but we noticed many diners had chosen the all-you-can-eat option, where you fill out a sheet to indicate what you want. We highly recommend the pork dumplings, the sizzling dish, and the yellow bean dish. Don’t miss out on the desserts either; they’re delicious and a great value. It was encouraging to see many Chinese customers dining here, which always reflects well on a restaurant. We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
