"An absolute gem of a country pub. Welcoming staff, very busy on a Sunday afternoon, so you must book! The roasts were a hit with all of us in the group. Other non roasts were the burger and the sea bream, and again, both were excellent. Desserts also were a smash, the sticky toffee pudding should be given protected status. Soft sponge, beautiful toffee sauce and a classic vanilla ice cream. Pure joy. The very unusual apple fig and chestnut crumble with lemon thyme custard was also a piping hot delight of flavours and textures. Cherry sundae and lemon posset disappeared without a fight! My only regret is that I did not get a chance to have the devilled kidneys starter but that means I will be going back. There is also a huge outdoor area, and a fair bit of is covered and has heating, so even on a cold rainy Sunday afternoon, there were plenty of punters outside. The gift that keeps on giving. This was my fifth time visiting for lunch, and I must say, the menu is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are both helpful and quick. Expect to spend around £20 to £30 per person.

I had an excellent birthday lunch at the Onslow Arms. The food is consistently fantastic, and the atmosphere is simply delightful. The staff are friendly and attentive as well. As for parking, it’s usually busy, but there are available spaces. However, it can be a bit tricky to exit the lot, and I wish there were a mirror to see down the road. This must be one of the best hostels in the area, if not the entire region. The atmosphere is fantastic, with unique and beautiful decor. They offer an excellent selection of beers and the food is outstanding, all served by friendly and welcoming staff. Plus, the parking is very convenient, making it hard to find anything to complain about!
