"The restaurant wasn’t full but it was busy. The waitress explained there was a big party and made sure she got our order in first which was good. But overall, service felt slow. The staff waiting on tables didn’t seem that experienced and needed to be told to clear the tables. The food was nice but there wasn’t any proactive advice about ordering sides, I needed to ask. The duck was lovely but it came with nothing else. Sides were a must and that should’ve been explained when ordering. Luckily we had enough chips and salad spare from other plates. It was ok but not enough for me to return"

Beef very nice. Veg ok. Yorkshire more like a large crisp. Staff did not engage with us at all and wore long faces. Won’t be eating there again.

celebrated a family birthday at no. 12 and had a great evening. the food was very good and the service excellent. the restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night. would definitely return.

What a disappointment! I made a reservation for Valentine's Day, double-checked it the day before, and when I arrived, the restaurant was closed! Nobody had informed me, neither OpenTable nor the restaurant itself. There was no notice on the restaurant's website either. This is unacceptable.

Family dinner before a wedding. Party of six. On a Thursday evening the restaurant was virtually empty. The host was attentive but not overly so. A good pace of service throughout the evening. Food was good, varied menu, an several unusual dishes. I had the marinated chicken kebab, which was tasty. Great lime lemon posset to follow. In all, a very nice evening, without being spectacular. A solid choice for a special occasion or just dinner with friends.

Just discovered that the restaurant was closed after reading 3 reviews in one day in February! I had a reservation for 9 people for my 60th birthday, and my elderly parents had traveled to Brighton for the occasion. Luckily, we were able to book a chain restaurant last minute. OpenTable was not able to assist with the booking and the restaurant's phone number was listed as "unrecognised." The restaurant should have informed guests how to contact them for further details.
