Very nice chef meets you and explains what to expect very nice! I love to have sashimi there is right place for. You will not find there trendy mayonnaise sushi, nudles etc!

Friendly staff. Sashimi is extremely fresh and delicious. Very traditional restaurant. You feel at Japan. I do recommend if you want to have a Japanese experience at Frankfurt.

What can I say about this sushi bar? Simply the best in Frankfurt and probably one of the best of Germany. The fish always tastes fresh and the sushi chef Is a great character!

Great and authentic sushi and only it, no avocado, just the real thing , friendly people and cosy ambience. Fantastic music as well. A place to go if you want real sushi in Frankfurt.

I am going to matsuri every week and I travel hours to get there and come back . The reason ? Because it is simply the best sushi restaurant in the entire region! The sushi chef is a great character. This restaurant for me...is life an addiction.

I was pleasantly surprised with the menu which was diversified (bream, smoked eel, maki w/ soya leaf, variety of California rolls.. and refreshing The only thing I disliked was the the Gunkan where they added mayonnaise which I don’t like and it wasn’t on the...menu’s pictures

Typical Japanese restaurant? I’m not sure. I have been a couple of times in Japan. Quality of fish is good. But the overall atmosphere? Very small restaurant taken care by the owner is nice . The chaotic scenery at the entrance and behind the sushi...bar on the way to the toilets? No comment. Overall it’s a little bit pricey for what you get . But a unilque place in Frankfurt. So Stars . Not easy to run such a small restaurant with good fish quality. A visit worth

This is the most amazing Sashimi experience I have had in my entire life despite the fact that I have been doing sushi-tourism for quite some years (including Düsseldorf and Los Angeles) I felt very welcome, and the sashimi had an excellent quality and was...presented in such a unique way. Matsuri is by far my favorite Sushi place and I highly recommend it. The chef was very kind and funny and made me feel very welcome. He explained in detail what was on my plate and how to eat it. I admire his art. Thank you for a wonderful evening and an experience that I will remember all my life. Thank you very much!

The restaurant is pretty small but very „authentic“ Japanese. The menu is very confusing and written in both bad German and English (sorry if you are in Germany at least ask a local person to proof read your menu). The menu also is...not really rich on choices and I better not recommend you the Sushi of the day. Haven‘t been really happy with the food taste and had much more delicious and creative Sushi restaurants before. This was one of the worst. In addition the Chef is explaining you how to best eat your Sushi which I personally found rather annoying. It‘s not the first time I am in a Sushi restaurant and I simply want to eat it how I like it best and not being checked by the Chef if I f...
